When i go to the actual bank account online, it persistently asks me to update my email address. Ive asked Citibank to fix this persistent problem, but they deflect the problem back to quickbooks saying that there system is not designed to sync with wuickbooks.
We have a CD that pays us interest. When the bank feed updates an interest payment, it shows first as an expense and then duplicates as in come- so net affect is $0. instead of the actual interest posting. The bank feed for last year is also missing. I re-signed into the bank and updated but this didn't help.
The Balance in Quickbooks is alot higher then my actual account balance and this is after I reconciled my accounts
Everyone is always asking this and I never see anyone post the correct answer. They all mention reconciling and reconciliation discrepancy report. This will not fix your problems. Here is the solution. [removed by moderator] When trying to get my book balance and bank balance to match its usually due to miscategorized transactions that the clients have entered wrongly causing a duplicate entry. For example a client made a direct deposit payment and they selected their checking account as the account to match the expense to. I dont know why quickbooks lets you do things like this but it does. My client definitely doesnt know how to use quickbooks and it should be more fool proof in my opinion. So what happens is quickbooks makes 2 entries because of double entry accounting. they credit the checking account and instead of debiting contractor expense account they credit the checking account. To find errors like these I go into the bank registery and select the filter and then choos
I need to clear the checks i want to void, but then I also need the liability to issue new checks. Do I make a journal entry into the liability for the total amount after I've cleared all the old checks?
Matching up Sales Receipts with downloaded bank transactions used to be an easy 2 step process. Now it’s a 7 step process. I know the original process didn’t always work perfectly, but there were ways to force it to work (logging out and logging back in seemed to do the trick). Now, though, the 2 step process has become a 7 step process and takes about three times longer than it used to. This is far from ideal when us small business owners are already bearing the brunt of cuts, increased costs etc and simply do not have the time to manage ‘improvements’ that triple our workload. Is there any other way to reduce so many steps?

If I could I would upload a screenshot but this platform won't let me. Every time I try to connect my Amex CC, it says I've done it successfully, then I return to QBO online, and I get an error message.
Hi all, I'm still fairly new to QBO and I'm trying to get a better understanding of categorizing transactions since I have my business CC linked to my QB account. My question, how would I categorize a transaction that is the result of me returning supplies. For example, I bought $100 worth of supplies at Lowes and then next day I returned $48 so I have a credit on my card for $48. Do I just simply add it as an expense and it will cancel out since it showing as money in? I appreciate any help or guidance on this, thank you in advance.
I tried to fix the reconciliation difference, but it does not allow me to edit the amount. The error showing under "change type" says "amount changed." I'm confused because the amount it is off is the same amount as what was reconciled. The amounts did not change. When I click on on the transactions it does not allow me to edit the amount. Instead it takes me to the journal entry. What do I do from here?
Is anyone have problems with Bank of America credit card downloads into Quickbooks Desktop over the last few days via Direct Connect? Card balances are being properly transmitted from BoA but individual transactions are not downloading. Deactivating and resetting up the Bank Feed doesn't fix the issue. Also, Web Connect QBO files work properly as they include the missing transactions -- but that is not ideal and not efficient in keeping the books updated. Seems like an Intuit issue need quick attention!
I have two sources of stripe income, my website and my CRM Dubsado. How can I bring up the full list of potential matches? I know they are there because one transaction will bring up one list and a different one will bring up a different list.
I've had account A, but it had the wrong country of origin. I unlinked my bank, closed the account and created a new one. The support told me creating the new account is the only way to change the home country and home currency. However, since I started the new account I can't reconnect the bank account. It's been 2 weeks and the error remains the same, due to time zone difference I can't get ahold of the support, and the information in help center is unhelpful to say the least. I've logged in into the old account today and tried to reconnect the bank account there and it went through without any errors. Of course, I didn't proceed since I need it linked to the new account. What is going on and how can I fix it? I'm currently paying for both accounts and can't use any!
My understanding is your accountant has to undo a reconciliation for you. This is an expensive option for me and I do not want to do it. I also do not want to pay QB for a bookkeeper to make the fix for me. Again as above, the error was there were 7 duplicates (put in by QB for credit card payment transactions, frustrating) that I did not catch until I completed my reconciliations. Now that they are complete, I do not see a way to undo. I removed the "r" on the transactions but that did not help me refresh the reports, so I went ahead and deleted the duplicate transactions. At this point my account register is perfect, it is just the reconciliation reports that are off. Going forward into 2022, they will continue to be off unfortunately. The error is -$5386.90 in "uncleared" transactions (the duplicate payments). If I can somehow add a transaction in to cover this and fix my reconciliation, that would be fine too. Would be grateful for any help here -- so frustrating I cannot just go u
Also is there a fuzzy name search, like getting transactions with names similar (but not identical) to the name one is searching for? For instance, we have donors who often donate from related entities; like John Doe (personal), John Doe's donor adviced fund, or John (& Jane) Doe.
Looking for a specific amount that is in the wrong account. Is there anyway to view the same amount within any accounts that have the amount?
