How can I still file the 1099 and include the $1,500?
Hi. I have an estimate for all services for the year (landscape business). I only want to invoice certain line items pertaining to when the work was performed. I know how to set up progress invoicing and I know how to choose from the three options of billing. Now, the invoice is produced with every line item from the estimate. Do I have to "Unlink" each line that is not going on the invoice? Is there an easier way to do this? It is very time consuming each time I have to invoice for that customer. Thanks for reading and sharing your thoughts.
I suspect the answer is " you can't" because Quickbooks has too many limitations, but I'm posing this question just in case someone has an answer. I'm looking for a way to bulk email or mark "email later" many invoices at once. I am using Quickbooks Desktop Pro 2019 WITH Multicurrency Enabled. Facts / Limitations:Invoices are not marked "Email Later" because they are imported from an IIF file and (for some reason) that is literally the one option developers did not enable for IIF imports.I can't use Income Tracker to select and email because (for some reason) Income Tracker is turned off when using MultiCurrency. Same as create batch invoicesThere are about 1,000 invoices, so I would PREFER not to email one at a time. This seems like it should be a simple fix and I'm not sure why everything is conspiring against me here, but this just may be a limitation of Quickbooks. Anyone else run into this or have any ideas?

We deleted a recurring transaction as advised by the Quickbooks team, however, the transaction is still appearing in the Unspecified column of our reports , which means the recurring effects persist. Kindly help.

Hello, Would there be any problem with running QB Desktop 2017 Premier in the following manner? On one computer only, run Quickbooks Database Server Manager. No user on this computer would have "Hosting Multi-User Access" turned on. To access QB, each user opens the QB company file via a share with URI 127.0.0.1. At least one user is able to open the company file this way and also turn on mutliuser mode, without needing to turn on Hosting Multi-User Access.Any thoughts about this? Is this potentially dangerous? It seems like this would be the QB hosting mode known as "Dedicated Hosting," but with the addition that users on that same host can use QB.
Hi - My business moved from Desktop Enterprise Contractor to QBO Advanced. After using QBO for a month, it has become clear that it will not work. My question is how can we export transaction level data from QBO and import it back into our Desktop File that we still have for the time period we have been using QBO. To be clear, not reports and opening balances and lists. We need to move all of the transactions (invoices, bills, credit memos, JEs etc) from QBO and import them into the existing desktop file. We can not create a new desktop file as there are third party systems that will need to do massive amounts of work if we create a new desktop file. Thank you.

I have one customer whose balance does not show on the collections report, but is there on the A/R aginig report. Any idea why that might be?
When I tried migrating from QB POS to Shopify POS about 6+ months ago, my data got all screwed up. All of my items in my item list were duplicated and we had to manually go through and remove the rogue entries; but it also screwed up my customer list. It took all of the company information out of the CUSTOMERS section; and instead put the contact name in that space. Now, if I try to start a new proposal, I can no longer type in the company name and have it auto fill like it used to. I've been trying to find an easy way to go through and fix this problem. I thought I finally found a solution today, by using the Add/ Edit Multiple List Entries. I customized the columns to include the Customer Names, but for some reason (other than QB HATES MY GUTS!), that the fields in this column are greyed out, and won't let me change the data. I've already spent more than 10 hours editing my customer list, and I'm only through the letter 'C'. Any help wou
In December 2022, credit card transactions were entered as Bills in QB Desktop. Specific bills were grouped together and a ACH payment was applied. In January 2023, we began using bank feeds. Part of the statement credit card transactions is under Bills and the remaining ones are under bank feeds. Is there a way to reclass the bank feeds credit cards transaction to Bills? Thanks.
Even when I don't click anything, this warning message pops up all the time:"You need 'Full' access under Billable Time and Costs to perform this action.Ask your QuickBooks Administrator to grant you this permission." But...I'm not trying to perform ANY action when the warning appears, or I might be clicking on something that I use all the time, like a customer name. Or maybe I just printed an invoice, and 5 seconds later I get the warning message. There's nothing I'm trying to do that would need admin permission. Maybe there's something running in the background that my login isn't permitted to do...? I've gotten into the habit of just clicking 'OK' like a hundred times per week, but I'm wondering if there's any way I can just...make it stop! Any ideas?
I recently bought a company vehicle. Total purchase price was $32,000. I made a downpayment from my personal checking account of $6000 so total financed was $26,000. The company will be making the monthly payments. How would I set this loan up on since the downpayment came from my personal account?
2023 is closed in our QB. I have to change an amount on an unpaid 2023 vendor bill. How do I do this without messing up the 2023 books? The vendor overcharged us but we realized after the bill was entered and after the books were closed. We now need to "edit" the vendor bill with a lesser amount.
I need to use the price level type of 'per item' for a customer who has contract pricing. I have defined the price level and can add it to the column list when looking at inventory item records, but have not been able to figure out how to edit it. Any help would be appreciated. I've attached a clip of the price level and a portion of the item list showing the price level field.
I just started a bookkeeping job and the company is beginning the conversion from quickbooks online to an industry specific ERP. Our CPA is not returning our calls (tax season?). I am looking for procedures for a conversion mid year from anyone with experience. Any guidance would be appreciated. Thank you
Does anyone know if there is an option to have the information that is entered into the Description box auto copy and fill into the Momo field? We are having to enter , save, go back into, edit , and copy and paste from the Description field into memo and its a lot of wasted time.
I'm currently using QB Premier Desktop Contractor Edition 2019. The product is no longer supported, and I would like to upgrade. It's my understanding that Contractor Desktop Edition is no longer offered, even though I've seen in a blog that it is. I've contacted QB and am not very confident in the advice that I received. Can anyone tell me if Contractor Edition is still available? And, if not, what if anything has taken its place? There are features in Contractor Edition that I need for my business. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
I am having to make a decision. I either have to stay with desktop and now go to the annual fee plus per monthly employee fee and then the enhanced payroll fee. or change to enterprise which would come out to about the same per year but includes payroll with it. I need to know how similar they are because I like, more importantly my book keeper likes, the setup of desktopAny help with comparison and if anyone has made the change and can tell me their experience would be greatSteve
I keep going into settings > Sales > Custom Transaction Numbers .. I set this to "Off"This setting sticks for a period of time, and then later, sometimes just a few hours later, the setting is back on.I am the only user in this account.What is making this setting turn back on?
I have been working with Quickbooks for several years. I have tried to figure out why when preparing an estimate our price does not fill in automatically when a part number is entered, it fills in in the "total" column but only for one item. Also when a quantity is entered it does not do the math and fill in the "total" for a line item. When converting to an invoice the estimate "Quantity" does not carry over to the invoice.
Good morning, When I am sending out invoices to customers, the feedback I am getting is, that when they go to open the invoice, they do not see the detailed list of what they are paying for. It will only let them click "pay invoice", and they want to know what all the invoice includes for that payment. When I send them, it will show me that it was sent and when they viewed it. How can I fix this for the customer?
