Hello,I've got an employee who has told me last month that he should actually be tax exempt due to qualifying for Indian Status with CRA - he has filled out the forms and yes, he should be exempt from CPP/Tax. However - Jan-April I already deducted CPP/Tax from his wages. Now in my brain, you should be able to simply calculate the amount of CPP and tax that you shouldn't have deducted - pay that portion back to the employee, adjust payroll remittance to CRA accordingly and then at the end of the year file the T4 as exempt for both with no CPP/Tax allocated to any boxes. However...This theory of mine (yes I'm aware it's not 100% legit/correct through government eyes) but for everyone involved it's the simplest and quickest solution - or so I thought..We use QuickBooks Online for bookkeeping, and the payroll is done through QB Wage Force. Which means I can't actually adjust the paychecks once they've been posted... is there anyway that I can get prior checks adjusted somehow? Does anyone
Hi there, am new to QuickBooks and setting up Inventory (not an accountant). Our Company has a warehouse of materials that we use for job sites, some are straight consumables and use to be charged to the job, however some are small tools that go to a job site and if they are still in good shape they get returned to the warehouse inventory. How can I pull items from my inventory if they are not a sales order, I don't want to create an invoice, I just want to charge an expense against the project. If some of the items are returned upon project completion how do I add back into the system? My ultimate end game intention is to have bar code/job cost for each transaction out, and same for returns. Thank you.

We were fortunate enough to receive some government funding from an agency for hiring staff.Basically we paid staff as usual, and the agency would reimburse us with a cheque.Unfortunately we just realized that our accountant categorized the deposits as sales, which means we pay hst needlessly. Obviously we need to edit the journal entry, so a few questions. How do we categorize this income? which chart of accounts?and how do we classify the tax? zero rated, exempt, out of scope? Thanks!

Quick Books Online payroll currently only allows one Class per employee. I want to split a salary between 2 classes. Would adding a "Bonus" pay type assigned to the second class be a manageable workaround. eg Mary's annual salary is $60k. $40k should go to Class A and $20k should go to Class B. Would it work to set Mary's salary as $40k, with Class=A, and then add a Bonus pay type of $20k/12 (Class - B) every month? Would all taxes, CPP, EI etc be the same as if she was paid $60k in basic salary?
Hi, I have a problem. Processed last pay cheque and processed ROE manually for one employee. Now management decided to change the date to 3 more days. I am using Quickbooks Enterprise. How I will cancel the ROE and issue a new pay cheque and ROE in Quickbooks.
