In QBDT Premier Plus Contractors Ed, 2024,I need to record a fraudulent transaction in which we tried to purchase a tool on FB market place and was scammed = we paid the money, but never got the tool. Can we follow the same procedure to write this off as a bad debt? I created an Expense Account, called Bad Debt. But, it's not a Customer, it's a "Vendor" (I use this term lightly)What are the steps to record a Bad Debt created by a Vendor, as opposed to a Customer, please? PLEASE don't tell me to ask my accountant! I need an answer from this community - this IS the Q & A forum, is it not? Thanks in advance for any insight you can give me.
We use a POS system that creates a csv file that we import into QBs.The problem is we can not import into the SALES TAX column. So when ever we import the revenue ledger we have to edit the JE and set the SALES TAX entry for the HST account so QBs reports the tax to its tax reports. We also have to edit the SALES TAX entry for each sales account and tell QB its a sales account, again so QBs send this info to the sales reports. We have discovered there is no way to import this information. So my question is:Is there a way to set an account (in the chart accounts) so QBs knows that every entry added to the tax account "20500 HST on Sales" has a SALES TAX as "HST-line 103"andIs there a way to set an account (in the chart accounts) so QBs knows that every entry added to a Sales account "40000 SALES:40014 Plumbing" has a SALES TAX entry as "E(SALES)"
the shopify integration used to place e-commerce orders in Transactions instead of a separate place which made it very hard to do bookkeeping. I was wondering if that has been changed? The company has an online shopify store and an in person store and I am wanting those to be seperate. Is that a thing?
hi, i just migrated from quickbooks desktop mac to guickbooks online... how do I restore from an earlier version if I need to?is there a way to backup my online quickbooks? thanks! -todd
We are auditing our 1099 records for filed 2022 returns and finding payments were included for bills paid in 2023, but entered as a bill in 2022. Could anyone explain to me why QuickBooks Online is including these in the 2022 1099 when it should be 2023? Thanks
Why do I have activity showing under "Quickbooks checking account and my business bank account? Several are the same entries.
I have an admin account but I am an employee of the company, which is why they send us our W-2 forms to our emails. I tried logging into Workforce with my account to see the W-2 that Quickbooks sent to my email, however, I get this message:Looks like you don't have a Workforce employee accountThe email you entered belongs to an admin account. Only employees can access their Workforce accounts. How can this be fixed?
I need to print them in order for me to send the forms to my vendors.
The payroll to my contractors did not run on 12/28/2023 as I had expected so I had to redo it on 12/29/23. These were payments that should be included on the contractors 2023 1099 but since it was not deposited until 1/2/2024 it is not showing up on their 1099 for 2023. How can I correct this?
They send me this payroll worksheet to enter specific paycheck corrections. The paychecks are fine, the information is carrying forward to the w-2 incorrectly.
I've tried to efile my 1099's but the process appears to have stalled. The program just posts a banner saying "e-file processing". It hasn't changed in over an hour. Why is it taking so long and how will I know if it goes through?
With the milage write off do I still add in gas receipts or is the milage calculator accounting for gas already?
I can preview all 1099's but when I click next to move to step 4 - File, program will not move forward to file.
I will no longer be working for the company and they will need the QuickBooks Easy Start account that I have been using to manage their books. The new administrator will be the business owner. They will need the easiest and most user friendly solution if possible. Thank you in advance.
I'm looking for software or a spreadsheet that will track fixed assets and monthly depreciation expense, additions, disposals, etc. I have a spreadsheet that I created but it is a little clunky and time consuming. Can you suggest a better option? We are a small manufacturing company under $50M in sales. Using QB Desktop Enterprise Manufacturing and Wholesale. Appreciate the help.

I used QB Desktop. A partnership LLC has dissolved. One of the partners formed a new single member LLC. This partner has agreed to assume the credit card balance from the old LLC. How do I transfer the credit card balance from the old LLC to the new LLC?
