Out pastor got a retroactive raise and I paid the retroactive amount in the "Other Earnings Type" box. Unfortunately I forgot to zero out that box is the next two paychecks and he was overpaid. In correcting that overpayment will the Quickbooks Payroll system recognize a negative number in the Other Earnings Type box and withhold from the paycheck and correct the year to date field total?
I have the Connect to Square app and set to summary transfers vs individual sales. when the transfer is uploaded into QB, it dumps the cash total into a clearing account. it does not break out sales, taxes and fees. How do I change this to work correctly?
I am a new Quickbooks onlilne user. I have done software conversions or started fresh before so I proceeded similarly in this situation. I first created my Chart of Accounts and entered all GLs, selected account types, etc. Then I went in to enter the beginning balances. Where do I do that? I'm not finding a place that will allow me to click and enter the amount. HELP please!!
I see all the other discussions about a save as you go feature that obviously isn't in QBO. I just did an entire estimate and had to step away for a minute and QB signed me out and now my whole invoice is gone. I don't understand how this isn't a standard feature in 2025. The budget, no frills invoice program that I used to use had this feature. Seriously, ADD AUTOSAVE to save as you go. Yes, I know I can hit the save button. Yes, I know I can change the settings to not log me out for several hours. That doesn't solve the issue. People have been asking about this feature for years. This company is worth how much? $170 BILLION? And still can no save-as-you-type? PAY SOMEONE TO ADD IT FFS
Is there going to be an update to the QuickBooks desktop payroll software to add a Roth Simple IRA plan deduction starting January 1,2025?
My payroll isn't showing up
I own an Employee Relocation Company. As part of the relocation process, we collect referral fees from realtors when a relocating employee buys or sells a home. (This is our largest revenue source). Realtors are technically vendors, but in our industry the pay us (for sending them leads. these are called "referral fees"), instead of us paying them in a traditional vendor relationship. In our current QB set up we have the real estate brokerages (like Coldwell Banker) set up as client (because they are who owe us the payment on the invoice we create in our system, to track the referral fees due to us, due at closing). The "client" is really the company that we have a contract with (like Amazon, not the realtor, Coldwell Banker...) The customer (in our world) is the transferee (Mr. Smith). Coldwell Banker is really a vendor (but they are paying us).... The issue we have created is we can't track all of the revenue we are making on the client account (i.e. "How much do
Is QB Time Tracking accepted by the IRS?
QB won't let me enter the correct beginning balance. The "wrong" beginning balance minus the reconcile difference off, is $720.29 which is the CORRECT BEGINNING BALANCE IT WON'T LET ME CHANGE TO. Ugh.

Has anyone in the Boulder, CO area successfully converted quickbooks online back to quickbooks desktop?
All articles address loans from the company to someone. Our president borrowed $200k from the S corp and will pay it back over about 2 years. Can this be done in QBDT?
Is there a way to add a "tip" for Recurring Transactions ?I have Recurring Transactions scheduled monthly and i will like to include "tip" option like in standard Invoices .Please advice .
Hi!Seems like a few checks that in actuality cleared the bank, have been uncleared in QBO when we transitioned over from Desktop to Online. The bank balance matches so clearing the checks will throw it off balance. What do you suggest I do with the checks that actually cleared but are showin as uncleared?THANK YOU!!
For various reasons it looks like I have to change from Desktop 2024 w payroll to Enterprise Gold. Seems roughly about the same price. First, are there any hidden tricks making it a bad deal and I have heard pricing is better through resellers but not sure who is legit.
The new QBO invoice templates do not meed our needs. When using a custom invoice template, QBO wants to put a "T" (for taxable) after every invoice line item. None of our product/service lines (we only have two) are default taxable, nor is the "Tax" box checked. Although it shows each line item as taxable, it does not calc tax in the invoice totals unless the "Tax" box is checked in invoice creation. I need to remove those erroneous "T"'s from the invoice line items. See example below. Thank you!
Hello, how do I manually enter the final withdrawal for a bank account that was closed early last year? This bank account was never connected to Quickbooks. I need to know every step please, and exactly what to enter as I am new to accounting. Thank you.
