Hello, In one of my companies, if you click on a customer there is a message like the following: "This customer is likely to pay __ days late" However, this message doesn't appear in my other companies. Is there a way to turn it on? Thanks!
I thought I saw it all but in Oct we had three pays with SC withholding tax. These taxes are always remitted to the state of SC on the 6th of the month following the payroll. On 11/6 I saw that only 1 of the 3 amounts withheld in Oct were remitted, so I called and opened a case . Showed the GL and explained that there was still $1139.14 due from October payrolls. The rep goes back and forth with the payroll tax dept (I'm not allowed to speak with them). Finally after an hour (probably to get me off the phone) they say the $1139.14 will definitely be paid to the State of SC prior to 11/15. I ask for an email stating that fact (never received an email).Today, 11/15 no tax payment to SC made. I call back and am on the phone for 2 hours. Their answer today is that 1) agree we missed the payment (why?), and 2) we cannot make it now because we missed the window for automatic payments, so you, the Customer, can go log into the State of SC and mak
We own a construction firm using QB Enterprise Contractor 24 Desktop. How do we use the estimate as the beginning balance for a statement? I would like to be able to show the client what they will owe based on their original estimate, less payments applied. WITHOUT having to create an invoice for the entire amount. Currently, the statements we would like to generate do not show a starting balance which results in an amount due of $0 - so, we are having to manually create the statement outside of QB's. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, CAM

I have until March for my company to fund a 401k employer Profit Sharing contribution. I want to record the liability 12/31 but for cash-flow reasons, fund it after I file taxes. How do I record this transaction?

My drop down "customer" menu is not working when trying to add a bill/expense. I have talked to 5 different QB representatives and none of them have been able to help me with this issue.I have three weeks of bill/expensive that are sitting on my desk, so as you can imagine, this is a big issue. Does anyone have a suggestion on how to fix this?
All of the sudden this week, when we get into Quickbooks, we got an error "It looks like something in your company files is causing your balance sheet to go out of balance". When I go to our balance sheet, several accounts are missing. Example, A/R is missing. When I go to our chart of accounts, A/R is still there with the correct balance. If I go back to the end of last year, they still show missing from balance sheet even though as of last week, they were showing up ok.What would cause these to suddenly be missing from balance sheet and how do we get back? We're on Desktop Enterprise Solutions 23.0. We have 2 other entities on QuickBooks and those files are NOT having this same issue.Thank you!
I'd like to create a report customized with a filter on the memo or line description field. Which report do I start with? Thanks
Does anyone have an issue with the text or boxes not being well defined or dark enough. I'm new to the online from desktop and find that many list items and the boxes that contain them are so "faint" they are hard to see. Also the scroll bars. I've tried settings on both my browser/Chrome and my new Mac to no avail. see attached screen shot
For some reason, the last three payrolls in December refuse to match. I can't find payroll checks in the register, or on the "Find Match" page. We have three employees all on Direct Deposit, and I can see that those directly deposited amounts match the bank transactions, but I can't make them match! I know how to match transactions, and the dates align also. I matched the first payroll in December, and literally nothing else has changed.
I am having an issue with our QuickBooks Desktop Reports Center. I try running a P&L report and select my date ranges and which result in Custom. When I run the report, it pulls up all old transactions that we have and a
i have desktop for non-profits now and two people can not enter payroll or enter deposits simultaneously. is this different in QB online
We would like to set up Consulting Types/Categories for consulting projects (that are set up as customer jobs). I am trying to find a field within Quickbooks Desktop where we could tag this data and then also have it included in reporting with using the Transaction Detail report.I've looked into using a "Job Type" but it doesn't look like that is a column option in the Transaction Detail report. Is it possible to create Custom Fields? Do custom fields need to be defined by the Item List? (For consulting, we have many different Items assigned.)How about using Classes?Any good advice? TIA
I am in Texas and have two employees with child support deductions. Texas requires that no more than 50% of disposable income can be withheld for child support. The options on payroll item limit resets are for annual, monthly, or one-time. Does the one-time limit mean literally just one time, or is that Quickbooks' weird way of meaning it resets each pay period? In other words, if I entered a child support payroll item with a 50% limit figured on net pay (not the same as disposable, but as close as I can get) and set it to the one-time reset, would it reset each week when I run payroll, or would it figure that limit one single time and never again?
I have the mileage entries .... but they seem to be a tool for collecting the trips - BUT how do they enter the income statement as an expense? From potential to actual?
I'm looking for suggestions on recording collection notes (regarding customer past due invoices) in QBO. I would like to record what I've done in order to collect payments that would ideally print on the Collections Report. I currently use a custom field on the invoice but it's not enough room in a lot of cases.
Hello,I recently started a new job with a fairly large company and somehow, the books are a complete disaster. A previous empoyee made a huge mess out of everything and for the life of me, I can't seem to fix it. The bank account dates back to 2015 and not a single time was this account reconciled correctly. The balance is hundreds of thousands of dollars off. I've printed out bank statements but can only get as far back as 2021 for them. But is this even smart to do? I don't want to mess up anything from previous years but I don't think it can be messed up anymore than it already is. Do you have any suggestions for how I can at least get this year accurate, even if it involves making a new company file or something? Thanks!
Is it possible to block the option to add more than one credit card/cash check with the same number?
I have a customer that paid an invoice with a credit card, and then a week later sent in an ACH for the same invoice. QBO help says to 1) Apply the payment to a different invoice, 2) refund the customer, or 3) record the overpayment as a tip. I don't really want to do any of these. I just want to turn the "Unapplied" balance into a Credit Memo and use the "send" feature to notify the customer of the credit. The customer can then choose to apply that credit to a future invoice of their choosing to keep their system and mine in sync. If I apply the unapplied balance to some other random invoice of theirs, they invariably seem to pay that invoice in full, creating a mess. So is there a way to turn that "Unapplied" balance into a credit memo? I can't for the life of me figure out how. The closest I've maybe come is to delete the ACH payment, and create a credit memo for that amount, but that just seems wrong - e.g. deleting all the ACH payment info. Thanks for any help.
