QuickBooks Q&A

Using self employed version. I do an invoice search for a customer, a list of invoices populates, they aren't in any order. Not by issue date, not by invoice number, not by payment received date. It is completely random. In some cases the payment received date reads months or even years from when payment was marked as received.

I need help!I am relatively new to QB and, while I've learned a lot and have successfully been able to use the GoPayments app for my transactions and the QB Self-employed app, I cant figure out how to integrate my incoming GoPayments transactions with QB Online to keep my income/transaction records straight. I signed up for the 12.99 subscription for QB online, but the account seems to completely separate from my QB GoPayments account, even though I used my login info to sign up for QB Online. It is not showing any of my Go Payment transactions (only way to view those is via QB payments online and that is a very limited system/set up and I cant see cash transaction there, even though they are al recorded on my GoPayments App)I have no idea why there are so many versions on QB and I don't know which one I need to keep my company's books! Can someone help me please? Thanks in advance,Brittany
Hello, I have QBO and all of my customers click the "review and pay" button on my invoices that is powered by QuickBooks. We don't do any mobile stuff, don't hand key. Above is the ONLY way for CC payments! Do I have to do something or are we good? Thank you for your time!
I want to delete old credit card and bank transactions without affecting the balances on both accounts for reconciling purposes.
If an employee left the organization and is now re-hired, do I enter them as a whole new person, or can the original termination date be cancelled like they never left?
I mean I chose a credit card account in Chase but all existing connected accounts added automatically and I can't delete them or choose only one credit card account in Chase.
We are a QBO Advanced user, and have developed a custom report for department managers to see their monthly transactions. It works fine - each month the report has to be customized to select the Class(es) relevant to their departments and emailed to them, for each of 30 managers. Now I want to ask my bookkeeper to do this monthly. Problem is, the Bookkeeper role doesn't allow customizing of a custom report. Neither does the Internal Accountant role (though it does allow customizing of a standard report). What permissions do I need to give my bookkeeper to allow them to customize a custom report?
None of those answers address this problem. Very frustrating!
I had an oddity happen that I wish I had caught before it got to the bank. QuickBooks misprinted a check amount that I paid through the "Pay Bills" button. Example: The total for the 2 invoices paid was $203.00 (2 separate invoices of $101.50 each) from our checking account. But, when QuickBooks sent it to the printer to print the check it ADDED $0.50 to the check amount and printed $203.50. QuickBooks only deducted $203.00 from our checking account and the error occurs nowhere else except on the physical check. Unfortunately, I did not catch it until I was reconciling our bank statement and had an error of $0.50. It is a regular vendor and the $0.50 will wash in our account. So, I don't need to figure out how to correct the $0.50. BUT, has this happened to anyone else? Why and how did it happen? It will make me check the checks much closer now. Pun intended. I am using QuickBooks 2020 Premier.
Is there a way to change the auto fill for the date from the last date used to it auto filling with today's date? It's so annoying that there hasn't been a way to do this in QBO like you could with the desktop.
I have the QB Online Self Employed and Turbo Tax Bundle. When I go into Turbo Tax it wants to charge me for federal and state filing - over $300 dollars!! I thought this was included in the bundle that I have been paying for? How do I get Turbo Tax to take my discounted price?
I got a call a while ago from 'Jennifer', who claimed to be calling from Quickbooks and saying that they had a problem with the payment for the renewal of our subscription.Because I had renewed our subscription last month and received confirmation, I was suspicious. I asked her how they had attempted to run the payment. When she said with a bank card, I asked for the last 4 digits of the card. Because that didn't match any of the cards we have or have recently had with our bank, I was even more suspicious. She then proceeded to ask me for a different card that they could use to pay the bill of $500 to renew for 2 years of 'technical support and bookkeeping,' I stopped her and pointed out that this was way more than what we currently pay for services, and I would need to verify the information that she was providing. She had a distinct Indian or South Asian accent. At my request, she stated that she was calling from California and gave me the number 888-279-2801 to call back to take car
Not sufficient to show balances only; I need to see both additions and subtractions over a time period I specify. I need to know when QBT unilaterally adds time to accrual balances so I can compensate for that feature.
When I request an employee the PAY TYPE is missing
Talk to a person please
We have had QB backups complete in 2-3 hours and other times take as long as 34 hours. Intuit is telling us to expect our backups to take 24-48 hours. Clearly, Intuit does not have the proper server capacity if this backup time can vary by a factor of 20. If Intuit is to properly serve its customer base in a cloud environment, it is critical that there is adequate server capacity. In a proper business computing environment, Backups should not take longer than a weekend. In addition, backups should backup the entire database and should not leave out key functions such as: • Custom Reports • Recurring Transactions • Rules In the desktop environment, these issues did not exist. You noted that the reason our backups can take a long time is that we have a large number of transactions. We have data in our QB database that goes back 20 years. Yet I don’t believe QB has a function to delete or summarize old data that could significantly reduce the size of our database. That would be an importa
I have several new employees that can't see their pay stubs on the app. Is there a setting I have missed? Our old employees don't have an issue.
I am treasurer of non-profit reporting to board of directors monthly. I use a custom comparative P&L/Statement of Activity to show results of current period vs previous period, current YTD and previous YTD. I moved from QB Desktop to QBOA in 2023. For the first time with March reporting, I am seeing the previous period labeled as Jan 29 to Feb 28 - a 31 day period, but not just the month of Feb. How can I fix this?
Hello, I am noticing that a payroll check is being counted twice in my profit/loss report. What is the appropriate way to track these? The first instance I see is a PayrollCheck entry under "PayrollExpenses:wages" account ( I believe this was auto generated). It maps to an employee check that was paid via direct deposit. The memo states "Gross pay: this is not a legal pay stub". And the other entry is the itemized deduction (i.e. actual withdrawals made from bank accounts broken up into pay, benefits, and taxes). It seems like a simple solution would be to delete the "paycheck" entry but I don't want to lose history of this paystub. Any suggestions on best practices? Thanks!
