Hello, First of all I am way in over my head 🙂Working out of Canada. Ordering stock inventory items from US.I have turned on inventory tracking under products and services.I have created a PO with our recent order. All items on PO were received.Converted the PO to a bill - I could see that this logged the inventory on the bill to Products and services.I have also set up this particular supplier to be calculated in US funds and converted to CAN. In the Items list I have adjusted all items to reflect 5% tax rate and therefore my PO matches to the penny. However, now that the charges for this have gone through the credit card and I have the final bill from the supplier I need to account for Freight and customs. I thought it was ok to add these as their own items on the bill. In doing so I can get the bill to match the invoice from the supplier. The Bill shows the US price and the converted CAN amount which matches exactly.N
Trying to work through QB Online sales tax reports and having a hard time finding how to get a report for why sales are exempt. I need to supply to the tax agency more information than I am getting from the sales tax tab. I need to let them know why sales were exempt in addition to other details. Below are some of the numbers we need for our reports Gross Sales Non-Taxable Items Sales Shipped Out of City/Or State Sales to Others for Taxable Resale (Exempt Reason)Sales to Government, Religious, and Charitable Organizations (Exempt Reason) Any help would be appreciated. Bug Report & Work Around : Match Foreign Currency Deposit with Payments.I am in Canada but do business in both CDN and USD.I downloaded my USD bank transactions and tried to match the deposit with a Payment, but it didn't come up in the list. So I edited the payment and cranked up the exchange rate to reduce the CDN amount. Then the Match was able to find it. After it was matched, I went back to the Payment and fixed the exchange rate.
I have a customer that was taken over the restaurant recently. He paid the stock expense stored in the refrigerator to the previous owner. The stock is the food ingredients for cooking.Usually, I put this expense into COGs whenever they spend the money on groceries. But I don't know where to put this initial expense for food ingredients. If I just put it in COGs, the cost for this month will be too high. Would it be okay? Please help me. Leah

I changed the company email address and user id and now it tells me there are no products or companies attached to the new login. The only account I can access is one that holds archived records
Hi there, I just want to learn from other users in Canada who use PayPal to receive payment and pay expenses a lot: How do you, or what is the easiest way to connect Quickbooks to PayPal? I was trying to download IIF file from PayPal but PayPal only allows downloading completed payment. This won't help a lot in accounting. Thanks. Leo
When I try and link my account it asks for user Id and customer id, when I talk to the bank, they say use the personal bmo, which is not available as an option
Hi, I'm considering using Quickbooks Payments to allow my customers to pay their invoices. But 100% of my customers are US-based. So I need to bill them in US$ and have them pay me in US$ using a US-based credit card.Does anyone know if the Quickbooks Payments option can handle that? I know that if I have my customers set up as being US$ in their customer profile, they should be invoiced in US$, but I can't find anything out about Quickbooks Payments being able to handle US Credit Cards.I'd like the process to be as seamless as possible, so I'm also worried that when they DO enter their US credit card information, I don't want the system asking if they want to be charged in US$ or CAD$ (i.e. if they want their credit card company to do any currency conversion) or anything like that. Thanks for any input/experience you have to share.
Can anyone tell me how to reconcile approximately 5 years worth of statements that;A) I don't have access to and;B) That have never had the transactions completed.I'm working for a company that entered the bills, but never completed the transaction ie, never paid anything.I am now faced with trying to catch up, but I don't even have access to anything older than 2022.Taxes have been filed and paid etc, but I'm just trying to move forward correctly so we can be a little more on top of things!!Thx
I can not find and invoice in quickbooks online
Hello, A client asked me to separate expenses on the P&L by expense sub-categories (ie: advertising/promotional, payroll, office gen/admin, bank charges, etc). This level of detail would allow them to focus on certain aspects of their P&L that matter to them most and isolate those elements. In the chart of accounts, I gave every account a detail type to correctly identify which account belongs to which sub-category. Is there a way for the P&L report to separate expenses into sub-groups based on the detail type stipulated in the chart of accounts? This would alleviate the process of having to manually do this in excel. Thank you!
