how do you find a particular invoice?
Hi all, I run a safari company in Botswana and operate in multicurrency in paying suppliers; mostly USD & BWP. Each safari I run, I have setup as a project under the customer. Our customers are usually travel agents, and as such, I need to be able to setup multiple projects under one customer. This I have managed to do. My problem is that to reduce on bank fees, I often pay one supplier in one go for two or more expenses relating to separate safaris/projects. For example, if I have booked flights for 3 separate safaris with the local air charter company and the total payable is $1,000, but each of the three safaris has flight costs of $400, $300 & $200 respectively, is there a way for me to split that $1,000 expense that I have paid and captured in QB across those three separate safaris/projects, according to the correct amounts paid? Thanks in advance for any help!
Hi Does anyone know what happens to the receipt images in quickbooks if you cancel your subscription? ThanksVikki
Hi, I receive large amounts of transactions from a savings account in my name, my quickbooks self employed account, the reference is different every time and the savings account ZOPA are the ones who choose the transaction reference, I cannot control it. The name of the person is on every single transaction though, this is my own name. But when I click 'create rule' whether 'match exactly' or not the rule is not applying, it keeps not putting a rule to these transactions as 'personal' it just asks me every time what these transactions are. How do I solve this, thanks?
A supplier was overpaid, they returned the payment right away. The bank is reconciled, the payment was recorded to the correct supplier through a bank deposit transaction. However the supplier profile is showing that we are still owed the money.I deleted the payment and re-imported the transaction to try and fix this, it still is not working correctly. It still says they owe us the money they repaid. How to fix this please? 🙂
I would really like some help from a real person that i can talk to
Hello! Total newbie here. I’ve recently linked my bank account and I’m currently going through and categorising various transactions. I shop at Tesco each week and also purchase fuel there as well. How do I make sure that if I add one transaction because I know it relates to a fuel purchase for business expenses, that is doesn’t grab every other transaction that appears with the payee name being “Tesco Stores”. Many thanks in advance
Hi AllWe invoice a customer in USD. When the customer pays in USD it is automatically converted into GBP by the bank which can lead to FX gains or losses. Question is how should we account for these gains and losses when matching to the bank receipt. One suggestion was to raise a CR coded to FX gains/losses but how do you raise a negative (FX gain) credit note? Is this a sensible approach? We do have multicurrency however payments are made to the base currency GBP account. Many thanks
Hi, I am trying to manually add a personal Transaction (since QB cant go back that far on my bank account, and also the Import option for my older Co-op statements is not working - it throws an error). However, the Business/Personal category can't be changed and is stuck on Business. How can I fix this? Thanks for any help.
How are they entered in the bookkeeping
Hi all. At one point during COVID I got a part-time job. Standard PAYE role so income was taxed. I transferred some of this income on a monthly bases to my Business Account and am not sure how to enter this into QuickBooks so it's all just sitting in Transactions/For Review rather than Categorised. How do I record these transactions and would they get taxed again when I do my tax return? I'm self-employed and using QuickBooks Online. Thanks!
Hi All, this is my first post here so I'm hoping someone may be able to guide me a little. I'm quite new to QuickBooks and indeed to managing my accounting as a whole, although I'm a fair way down the line. However, I'm still struggling to get to grips with how to deal with dividends. I've gone down the route of the advice I found online referring to creating journal entries. As such I created a Retained Earnings account to debit then a Provision for Dividend account (Current Liability) to match it to. Those accounts remain. My basic understanding from this research is that a dividend should be a debit to Retained Earnings and a Credit to Current Liabilities..?However, actually, if my thought process is right, I don't need to delve into journal entries as I'm simply trying to allocate the payment out of the account that shows up in the Banking section as an outgoing transaction? In the Banking section you can only select the outgoing dividend payment as an Expense,
I followed the instructions on how to add different dates and customise the dates between and it will not pull them out from the year 2020
Hi all having a problem with my app! Anytime I try to match an invoice to a transaction the app freezes! I usually match the invoice to the transaction and whatever the remainder is gets put into a withholding tax expense I created myself. When I try to add the remainder the app freezes and closes down! Any ideas?
