QuickBooks Q&A

When we went to file sales tax, we had to pay a few $$s more than what was allocated towards it in our payable account. How should we address this? If a journal entry should be made, what should that entry look like? Thanks!
I'd like to be able to add a percentage charge to an item list in QBO. The feature worked awesome in Desktop, but everything I've read in the forums and instructions I tried without success. I went to the gear icon:Then to listsProducts & services and then new, and serviceNamed the itemProvided the descriptionIn the Sale price/rate entered 5%, and assigned to the appropriate income accountSave & close Next step is on the actual invoice, I go to the Product/service pull down and locate my item. The item shows up wiht the correct numbers, and voila - it adds 5 cents to the invoice. (not what I intended) This is a critical piece for me that was available in desktop; we pass along a fuel surcharge when gas prices exceed $5.00 per gallon, and with this last attempt failing, I needed to manually calculate each invoice (over 200) to add the surcharge. (Desktop did the whole thing.) Any suggestions would be super apprecaited - Thanks!
As a non-profit association we work will Nimble within Salesforce. There is a lot of manual exporting and importing to get our AR into QBO. I am wondering if QBO is capable of the integration.
Is there a way to text message clients invoices. Everything I have researched so far it appears that you USED to be able to do this, but for some reason QBO turned it off. Now their only suggestion is to copy the link and text it yourself. This defeats the purpose. So 1st question - is there some workaround to turn this on in QBO 2nd question - if not, has anyone had any success with an APP that links to QBO that can assist with this. I tried to link Message Desk and that was a nightmare from the get go. Any suggestions are appreciated!

Good afternoon,If someone can help me with a mess created with the inventory in QB Enterprise. We move from QB Premier Desktop to Enterprise a few weeks ago. My inventory in QB Premier was easy and perfect on the system before doing the transition to QB Enterprise. Now we have a mess with the inventory because, we have one quantity in All Sites and a different quantity in the Main Warehouse. How can I change the quantity so it can be the same on both?Thank you!Tomas
I've asked this question many times in the past (recently October 2024). Has QBO introduced Purchase Order customization yet? We create a PO in QBO, generate a PDF and use a custom Outlook template to re-enter all the details and send the PO. It would be nice to create a nicely formatted PO in QBO and press Send. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.
Customer Type is supposed to be on the Customers page and give you the ability to assign a type to your customers. It's not there or I cannot find it. Is it gone?
I purchased a new laptop and have successfully installed (from disk) Quickbooks 2000. I am trying to move 2 company files from old to new laptop. I have tried "utilities" "move QB to another computer". Everything copies to my USB. When I open the USB on new computer and click on "Move_QuickBooks.exe" nothing happens. I tried to backup the files and tried restore. It states the file is corrupt or not a correct file type. Same with just moving the .qbw files and trying to open. Any suggestions?
Suddenly today we noticed that Quickbooks was backing up our data under Data Protect. We have never subscribed to that service. We did notice that our QB Pro Desktop renewal was significantly higher than previous years. Would I be correct to guess that they just snuck the Data Protect plan in with that subscription, whether we want it or not?
They are only getting the "pay invoice" blue window. In order to see a printable invoice that are having to click on the "Pay Invoice" link then click "view invoice".... They don't like that and preferr the PDF to be attached to the email.
Hello! I am using Quickbooks Desktop Pro Plus 2024. When sending invoices, I would like for our DBA name to be used instead of legal business name. For the printed invoice, I can create a modified template, delete the company name data field, and then add a label with the DBA name. However, there are two other places where the legal company name appears. First, when emailing the invoice to the customer, the legal business name appears as a "header" in the first line of the automatically generated email message body text as shown below. Is there a message template somewhere where this could be changed? LEGAL BUSINESS NAME Invoice Due:02/24/2025T1Amount Due: $50.00 Dear Customer :Your invoice appears below. Please remit payment at your earliest convenience.Thank you for your business - we appreciate it very much!Sincerely, Secondly, I am using QuickBooks Online Payments. When the cu
Buenas tardes Tengo una pregunta, en que modulo de QBO puedo observar el libro mayor y libro menor (contablemente hablando) Quedo atenta a su respuesta.
how do I do this?
Quickbooks online does not seem to allow changes to purchase order template, Is therea workaround?
I have a client that wants the employee to be paid set amount (1200, 1000, 900, etc) after taxes. They are paid by salary. Is there a way to accomplish this in Quickbooks Online.
In Quickbooks, when creating multiple grant budgets, should the period be the entity's fiscal year or the budget fiscal year?
I'm running the Customers > Open Invoices report as of 12/31/2024. This is the same report we used for EOY last year. This year for some reason the same report is giving us the open balance as of today, NOT as of the Last Fiscal Year (12/31/2024.) For example, I'm looking at a 12/20/2024 invoice for $12,820.00. It was paid on 2/12/2025 but was entirely unpaid as of the report date 12/31/2024. Yet QuickBooks is reporting the balance as of today. It didn't do this last year. How do I fix this to report the correct open amount as of the closing date of 12/31/2024?
My efile status in QBO is "sent" and I have not received an efile receipt. According to the company information the status should be Not submitted or submitted. Why does mine say "sent". I am on QBO Simple Start. My credit card was charged for the 1099 service. I see the list of 1099s in my 1099 dashboard. Is there something else I have to do?
I have a Sole Proprietorship LLC. I will buy equipment for a client with no markup. I add the equipment purchase to the invoice so as to be re-imbursed by the client. How do I keep the equipment that I am being re-imbursed for from showing as profit since I am not making any money on that part of the invoice. Thanks
