We have one employee who is contributing to a 401(k) out of their monthly payroll. In December of 2024 we changed bank for our business, moving from Wells Fargo to Schwab. I successfully migrated the banking relationship in QBO to Schwab, and payroll for January was debited from the Schwab account. However, I didn't know that there was a second setting under the Payroll-> Settings-> Accounting menu that also had to be set to the proper Schwab account. So, QBO debited the Wells Fargo account internally, and I can't reconcile my Wells Fargo account because of this error. I have tried using the Payroll-> Settings-> Update Transactions option, but that did not fix the problem. Is my only solution to Void the January payroll and re-enter the payroll information? If so, what effect will this have on the bank accounts and employee payroll tracking? Many thanks in advance for your help. Michel

I'm having problems all of the time. Currently, I have 2 employees clocked in and it doesn't show them clocked in on my end. Last week, one of my employee's time didn't show at all on my end. I had to input all of her time for the week by hand. Another employee had clocked out on Thursday and on Saturday, it still showed him clocked in from Thursday. I have spent countless hours on the phone with the support team and had absolutely no help at all. The problems still keep happening and I can't possibly be the only one out there having problems. Does anyone have any suggestions from here?
I have many bank accounts at the same bank. How can I download them all at once rather one at a time?Thank you.
*** IMPORTANT***We just implemented class tracking in our Enterprise Gold. When I first ran the P&L report for the board, there were 3 separate entries that were coded for a different class that appeared in the report I was running. I called up the 3 invoices for those appearing incorrectly: there was nothing wrong with those invoices.I deleted the class entry and replaced it with something else, then deleted the something else code and re-entered the code that was originally in the invoice, but still the invoices appeared in the wrong P&L by class!!! Why???? Is there something special that makes a class assignment not work?
Hi everyone, I just switched over from quickbooks desktop and am having a hard time having multiple tax rates on an invoice. I need to do this because my products, trees, are taxed at wholesale while my services, delivery, are taxed at retail. Does anyone know how to do this? In quickbooks desktop it was so easy. I could subtotal my inventory items and add a tax line item that would calculate the tax right there. It doesn't seem I can do this with QBO. Any help is appreciated.
can I start my migration from QB Desktop to QB Online Essentials? I think I have inadvertently double entered bank transactions from prior to 1/1/2025

In DESKTOP version, is there a setting to have QB automatically apply credits to invoices? I see instructions how to do this in QuickBooks Online, but I'm using Desktop. Where is the same setting in the desktop version?
Hi there, Some transactions are missing on the bank transactions to categorize them for reconciliation, however, these missing transactions are showing in the bank register. Can someone help me to solve this? Thank you in advance. Danielle
I’m beyond frustrated with QuickBooks Solopreneur right now. Every time I try to do my year-end filing, I get a “Something went wrong” error, and I have been dealing with this issue for weeks. I’ve contacted support multiple times, and the responses have been completely inconsistent. Some agents have told me that tax filing isn’t possible with Solopreneur (which is false), while others simply don’t believe me. I did have one support agent who could reproduce the bug on their end, yet I still can’t get any updates on a fix or any accurate guidance on moving forward. At this point, I feel completely stuck. Has anyone else run into this issue? If so, have you found any workaround or resolution? I need to get my taxes done, and this ongoing issue with zero transparency from support is unacceptable. I would appreciate any insights from the community or an actual update from QuickBooks.
I cannot run an accurate Balance Sheet report for the Last Calendar Year (1/1/24 to 12/31/2024). The Net Income number it shows is not for 12 months but only for six months (7/1/24 to 12/31/24 (beginning of the FY to end of the CY)). When I click on Net Income to look at the details, the report it generates confirms that it is only showing me six months of Income in by Balace Sheet Report even though it is set for 12 months. I can't think of a work around to generate an accurate balance sheet. I guess I can export it to Excel and fix the errors there. Balance Sheet is a pretty foundational report to have an error this big. Please fix now!
Advanced search returns "Something is not right. This is a new feature and it might not always work" Tried the generic incognito browser several times. No joy from that. I do not have the option of accessing QBO from a different [newer] computer. I also cannot spend hours in chat or on the phone being transferred among several reps, as happened the last time I did the "Contact Us" procedure.
Hello, does anyone know if there is a way to customize what the check will show when printed through quickbooks online? I do know quickbooks online has an option of to generate the check number you can check off when creating a check, however I also want that number that it generates to appear on the check itself.
I have just started setting up and connected by bank account. It is showing my business payments/expenses as incoming payments and my business/client invoice payments received as a negative or outgoing. Any idea how I change that to swap it over? This is for a Merrill Lynch CMA account. Interestingly, I also have Bank of America accounts that upload the transactions to the correct credit/debit columns just fine.
I have a new employee in GA and I added my GA DOL Employer Account Number in Desktop and it is not recognized. It believes it should be a 7-digit number, followed by a hyphen and two letters. It is actually only a 6-digit number. This is preventing me from e-filing my taxes. Any way to override this, or am I stuck with manual processing?
A bank transaction rule was identifying a lot of our payroll items as Quickbooks subscription payments. This would categorize them as office expenses, and then we'd have the duplicate entry in our reconciliation page for the actual payroll item.Some of these office expenses were reconciled before I knew what was going on, so I took the following steps:In the bank register in the chart of accounts, I unreconciled the mis-identified office expenses.In the categorized bank expenses, I clicked "Undo" on those items.In the For Review section, I matched them to the proper payroll item. Many of them automatically matched.This seemed to do the trick, but I'm still unable to match one transaction. I think for this transaction I identified it as miscategorized in the Office Expenses report in chart of accounts. I skipped step 1 and went straight to undoing the categorization.Now when I try to find other matches, nothing comes up for that amount, even after expanding my dates and filtering by All
The issue that I am having is I'm trying to change my phone number for Sign In & Security, I start by clicking on my profile image in the top right corner and then select on "Manage my intuit account" and then "Sign in and security" and select on phone number, The only problem is that the phone number registered is an old phone number I no longer have, so I called support and they told me that I would have to go through recovery my account "https://account-recovery.app.intuit.com/hri-ui/accountrecovery" I try to go through the process but when it comes for me to scan the QR code image I do from my mobile phone but nothing happens when I open the link it still shows the same QR code when I'm supposed to be taking images of my license. So I'm not sure on what to do next or how to fix this problem
I use the Customer Type field to group customer accounts that should have contracted pricing applied to invoices. It is much easier to manage this by simply adding a customer to the appropriate Customer Type as opposed to manually adding them to all appropriate price rules (which would be error prone and time consuming). When I setup a price rule, I specify in the Customer field at the top which customer type the price rule pertains to, and the customer list below automatically populates. Now, when I create an invoice for one of the listed customers, the unit price drop down will show the price rules that can be applied. This used to work, but not anymore. Even after re-creating the price rule, I do not see the price rule on the invoice screen when adjusting the unit price for an item. We have a requirment to pay an international vendor in US$ (that country accepts US$). Prevoulsy, I was able to do it with Melio (in QB). Now with QB bill payment, I am not able to do so (both paper check and bank transfer). QB bill payment only allows bill payments for US. Can someone throw some light on this? Thanks.
The reason for this post is because we have had this problem since 4 days ago and we cannot access customer transactions nor can we use the system normally. We have already followed the steps in the Intuit forums (clear cache, delete cookies, sign in a different browser or using a private tab ) that talk about this problem and there is no result. We are still experiencing this problem. When we try to enter the help section and get in touch, the channels appear as all closed (No availability). We need help ASAP.

The team member field defaults to an employee that is no longer with our organization. Is there a way that field can be blank?
