Greetings! I have used QBDT since its inception. I started running my business using Quicken DOS (1993'ish), evolved to Quicken Windows, then used the QuickPay module for Quicken Windows and then many versions of QBDT. So needless to say I know QB pretty well and yes, I am old! I just started working for a company who uses QB Online, which is my first exposure to this evolution. We also use QB Payroll and when I look at the drop-down for pay periods, it only displays 3-4 payrolls in advance. I wish to provide our employees a schedule of specifically what day they will receive their (everyone is direct deposit) paychecks, but some months it's the 15th and other months the 16th. Then if the 15th falls on a weekend but the 16th doesn't...yadda, yadda. Pretty annoying that there's no simple means where I can produce (or even view) a pay period calendar, so we can properly inform our employees for a full 12 month period! I've seen on this 'Commun
My client has a QuickBooks Checking account and the bank feed has not updated since Jan 18. This is when the NEW feature for QuickBooks Checking appeared in the Account and Settings section so I'm wondering if something has changed due to the NEW feature. The bank feed tries to update and reverts to a green check mark, but the new transactions don't show in the bank feed. I've tried various ways to get it connected again (incognito browser etc) but it won't connect. Is anyone else having this problem or have suggestions on what to do?

Thanks: When I attempt to import missing data (1 JAN 2024 - 15 FEB 2024) from my initial Link Accounts transfer, many dates show a " ! " error after import. Error Message: "We can’t upload everything from your file. Some info may be missing from your file. Double-check that your file is complete and try uploading again." Remedial steps taken: - I have scrubbed/sanitized the data.- I'm importing about 35 records of dates, descriptions, and amounts from an Excel-generated CSV file - both attempted: 1) CSV UTF-8 (Comma delimited) (.csv) 2) Comma Separated values (.csv) Question:Can I amend an EXPORTED .csv file from QBO with the missing data and re-import an amended file back into QBO? If so, are there any known landmines for doing that?
Thanks. (See attached): I've concluded this issue may be on the bank's side during my initial "Link Accounts" transfer, and I'm looking to approach a viable workaround. I have CSV formatted data to cover the JAN- FEB 15 2024 gap, but when I attempt to import a chunk of transactions, I get the following: Error Message in Tools/Import process: "We can’t upload everything from your file. Some info may be missing from your file. Double-check that your file is complete and try uploading again." Remedial Steps Taken: (Note: I'm 23 years IT support with heavy data management) so I know the usual culprits with "dirty data" - (hidden spaces, corrupted fonts, date formats etc.) - suffice to say I've tried scrubbing/sanitizing the data. Date format I'm choosing is dd/mm/yyyy. I've also tried keying in a missing (JAN 1, 2024) transaction as a test manually via "New Transaction" and while it appears to work, the data doesn't appear in my transactions. 🤔
Have been trying to receive my money from Quickbooks. Any ability to receive funds is put on excessive hold times ( weeks to months ), with reps telling me I CANNOT contact their higher ups or the back-office department to verify pertinent information they need, to give me my funds. You may only talk to a customer service rep who cannot actually give you any help. They tell you they will forward your complain and that's all they can do. They tell you to call Saturday, and then you call Saturday and its closed.They cite 'security measures' as a reason why your funds are on hold, that will take 3 - 5 business days and that end up turning into MONTHS, with NO CALL BACKS or replies. When you question how did 5 days turn into months they state they're sorry, but they will "escalate" this issue. After you tell them every other rep has escalated the issue, to no help, they just say this time will be better.They also say the holds are tripped automatically by their tech with no way to override
For the past week, I've been experiencing an issue with the iPhone app not updating QBO when entering a new expense and attaching a receipt. The app gets stuck in "saving..." mode, and when I check my account online, the transaction appears, but the receipt is not attached. I've already tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app, but that didn’t resolve the issue. Please advise.
Up until November 2024 I was able to send invoices from Quickbooks Desktop using my Yahoo business email/Turbify with no problem. I have used the 3rd party app password and it's been fine. Now, this is not working no matter what I try. I've turned off my virus software, opened QuickBooks as the administrator, deleted and added again the email, and have used various Yahoo email addresses I have access to. NOTHING WORKS. Over and over again I get the error that my username, password, or internet isn't working. HELP! I've been to every help article on QuickBooks with no luck. Did Yahoo/Turbify recently change something? Or has Quickbooks stopped working with Yahoo?
How can I have line items in an invoice automatically code to a date and class without creating a separate Journal Entry for each line item? It is incredibly daunting having to create a journal entry for each line item in an invoice. I have invoices with 20-30 lines that are income for events throughout the year. So they all need to be classified to a specific date and class. While I put the dates and the class for each line item in the invoice, when it is paid, it all goes to Prepaid Revenue instead of the date and class associated with the specific line in the invoice. It is so time consuming and would be easier if I put the effort into the invoice, for it to use the information input.
I get automatic bank feed uploaded to my qb online account. I have a credit card payment that was paid using my personal account, which I dont have connected to quickbooks. How do I record it if I don't have that account listed?

our business cc has a primary card number and an additional number issued to an employee. purchases are applied to the respective card numbers and appear as such when downloaded from bank feeds. payments sent to cc issuer are directed to the primary account number. our QBO chart of accounts was set up with 3 accounts - a parent account and 2 sub-accounts that correspond to the respective credit cards. Is this the correct set up? We were instructed to apply payments to the parent account but, when we reconcile, the sub-account balances do not change to reflect what is happening in real life. Our accountant states that additional entries are required to effect the sub-account balances? It feels like there should be an easier, more direct method?
I am newer to bookkeeping and am helping out family with their books. There are two Chase Bank credit cards on the account and are setup as sub accounts under a parent account in the chart of accounts. I will call them card A and card B; card A is the main credit card where all the transactions show on the statement and therefore populate in the reconciliation page; in bank transactions both cards show their respective transactions when needing to be categorized. What has been happening is that the card A has been reconciled for 2024 but neither card B nor the parent account have been reconciled. In order to reconcile card A, all of the transactions on card B were "excluded" on the bank transactions page, then those transactions were added manually as expenses to card A so they are accounted for and so that reconciliation could be completed. I have PayPal set up as a Bank Feed to my QBO account. Periodically, I transfer amounts from my Paypal account to my actual bank. When the transferred amount shows up in my PayPal feed, I record it as a Transfer between accounts, then match the deposit transaction in my Bank account feed. Easy. Until today.I noticed that my PayPal transfers (money moving OUT of PayPal) is showing up in my QBO PayPal feed as funds RECEIVED. This is a pretty basic fail in QBO, which just started in the past few days. Nothing has changed on the PayPal side - I can see three consecutive bank transfers in the past month, all posted exactly the same way in my PayPal account. The first one came across to QBO correctly, but the next two are in the feed as "received" rather than "spent". This error needs to be fixed asap by QB engineers.

With Dec being closed and not having access to open it, to clear out the duplicate, can I reverse the journey entry with Jan date and check both sides to clear out? Hi everyone,I'm having a problem with how sales tax is handled in QuickBooks Online through the Shopify Connector. Here's the issue:For certain Shopify transactions where no sales tax was charged (and wasn't supposed to be), QuickBooks is still showing a portion of the transaction split into "Sales" and "Sales Tax." However, the tax shouldn't exist for these transactions, as Shopify did not charge any tax.I've reviewed my Shopify settings, and there are no issues on that end. I also can't seem to find any tax mapping settings in the Shopify Connector for QuickBooks that could explain why this is happening.Has anyone experienced a similar issue or know where to configure the tax mapping in QuickBooks for the Shopify Connector? My account has disappeared again. It happened on June 19th. It was logged in on the 17th, I was out of the office on the 18th, when I returned on the 19th and tried to login into to QBOA, it says "We can't find anyone with [email address removed]." Using chrome incognito, I was able to login and chat with an Adriano Jr on the 19th and was told that it's possibly a security issue and it's being looked at on the back end. I did not receive a reference number so I can't check the status of this issue. And, NO ONE can seem to tell me how this happens. How does an account become deactivated when it wasn't done by the firm or the individual, twice in four months????? Since June 19th, I have tried, every day, to login to QBOA and I am still getting the error. This is absolutely ridiculous!!! Am I the only one this is happening to?
A new Donor Type was created during a recent Customer Import when the inputting staff member entered the donor type incorrectly. Is there a way to do one or any of the following?1) A bulk edit and change all of those imported donors to a new donor type? 2) Merge two donor types into one ie. We used to only have "Donor Individual" and "Donor Company" as our Donor Types. With the most recent import "Individual" and "Company" Donor types were inadvertently created. Now, we need to change all of the Donors marked as Donor Type "Individual" to "Donor Individual" and all of those marked as "Company" to "Donor Company" so that I can delete both of the newly formed donor types for "Individual" and "Company". What is the easiest and most efficient way to do this?
