QuickBooks Q&A

Hello, I am new to QBA, but trying to catch up. The very long-time accountant in me wants to know exactly where each report pulls its' information from, but this information does not seem readily available. For instance, I have run a "Transaction Detail by Account". One of the column headers is "Full Name". 1) I noticed a few "Full Names" were not printed on the report. These "full names" are actually account names, so I can't imagine why not every "Full Name" column would be filled out. 2) Since I don't know exactly where the columns from this report are pulled from, I can't investigate to see why some lines were missing this information. Thanks for any and all help! This actually occurred in the Sample Company, which I can experiment on without causing any lasting damage elsewhere. T
I am brand new to QB so hang in there with me.When I go into Banking, I see a bill come through. When I go to find match it doesn't show up, however; It is showing up in expenses under vendor as paid.We only send out ACH's and no checks. Why does this happen, and what steps should I take to fix it/prevent it from reoccurring?
I customized the footer in all our sales forms but the invoice on the app doesn't show it. Invoices created on my phone don't look like the invoices I create online with my computer. Does anyone have a solution for this.? I'm supposed to be able to customize invoices on the app (iOS only) but Sales Forms isn't in the settings area like the instructions say it is.
I am having trouble getting anyone to help me fix this issue. I am in Vermont and we have a Child Care Contribution that we need to pay as the employer and I have it in my payroll accounts list and it shows coming out on the employer side when I do payroll but when i go to the pay liabilities section the account does not show up there to give the total that needs to be paid by me the employer. Does anyone know how to fix this issue? Have contacted QB but they only keep sending me articles about how to take it out of the employee
For almost a year I was able to send invoices using SMS Texting, now it is gone and Everywhere I look it shows QB doesn't offer SMS Text Messaging.Did anyone else use this feature? What happened to it?

Is there a way to credit a partial payment to one line item on an invoice instead of having QuickBooks proportionally apply the payment over two (or more) line items? For example, a client has a total invoice of $1,000 with two line items, labor of $750 and supplies of $250. If the client makes a first payment of $750, QuickBooks credits it proportionally, with $562.50 going to labor and $187.50 going toward supplies. I would prefer the full amount of the $750 first payment go to the labor and the second payment, when made, be credited to the supplies. Is this possible?
Is there a report that will list the accounts reconciled that looks like the Accountant Center list?
I have Quickbooks Desktop assisted payroll. I need to correct a deduction for an employee contribution to an HSA account in a payroll I ran earlier this month. I deducted a pre-tax deduction for an HSA from an employee's paycheck by mistake. I need to correct my payroll liability and reimburse the employee the amount. I know the employee with not get the full amount as I need to make sure the reimbursement gets taxed (as it was previously taken out pre-tax). I found some previous threads which seemed to describe something close to my problem and were somewhat helpful but now I can't seem to find them again. But I had some additional questions too. -When setting up a new payroll item which I plan to call "Reimbursement for Employee HSA deduction", I am not sure how what expense account to have this payroll item affect? I assume just "Payroll liabilities"? -And when setting up the item, I am not sure what to choose u

Hello, I need help moving transactions under one account to another one. There’s are transactions I imported with a file. I tried everything already. I went to categorized and put undo, I went into the reports and selected each transaction to try to change the account. Everything I try it doesn’t work. It says I have to un-match downloaded transactions or something like that.
Can no longer click on a line item and manually drag it up or down on an invoice. Why? I have tried other deleting browsing history
i paid contractors via cash app and need to file 1099 but its not letting me. i talked to a quickbooks person but she didnt really have an answer
I have 2 businesses in QBO and each one has a different Capital One credit card. When I download transactions in 1 account, it disconnects the Captial One card in the other. So when downloading, I always have to reconnect in one of my accounts. Is there a way around this? Is this a Capital One issue? It seems odd to not be able to download 2 different cards in 2 different QB accounts and have to reconnect every time. Thank you
Hey just reaching out to see if someone knows how to fix this. I switched my payroll tax settings from automated to off of being automated, but Quickbooks is still showing that they plan on automatically filling the w'2s this year. It seems I changed the setting too late and now quickbooks is still thinking it's in charge of doing this. I can see the w2's employee version but it says draft only. Does anyone know how to change that so quickbooks allows me to be the one to send out the real copy of the employee w2's?
In late 2024, the IRS sent me statements that I underwithheld 941 payments in specific quarters of years 2022 and 2023. I have since paid these by autodraft from our only checking account. I have not put entries into Quickbooks. I use the 2024 desktop version of Quickbooks. I don't know how to enter the credits and debits for these payments. QB payroll automatically adjusts these accounts so I don't know what all accounts are affected. What accounts should I credit and debit to account for these payments "additional" 941 payments? I'm sure I have to create a liability to generate the demand for the IRS payments and I have to post these payments to some expense account. Do these accts already exist or do I need to create them? Should this be general ledger entries? I'm sure this doesn't affect the taxes for 2024 but it does impact cash flow, which needs to be captured. Any assistance is greatly appreciated.
Greetings!I recently migrated from QB Desktop to QB Online. In the Desktop version I'd see voided checks in the check register. But today I had to void a bill payment/check in the Online version and I'm not seeing the voided check number in the check register any longer. I'm almost certain I voided it rather than deleted it. Shouldn't I be seeing a voided entry? Thanks for any feedback!
How do I fix in QBO the employer's Simple IRA Match to be limited to the employee's contribution?
I've been using 2010 Pro since 2010 - 14 years. I have always enjoyed great sccess in using 2010 Pro. I recently obtained 2013 Pro. I have not had serious problems with 2010, but I think I need start to bring my program year up to date in incremental jumps. From your past experience, are you aware of any inherent problems I might encounter in opening my 2010 Pro company file with 2013 Pro? I am willing to pay for this information. Using QuickBooks Desktop version. I'm trying to search within my checking register for transactions that are assigned to a particular account -- e.g., all advertising expenses paid for out of checking. Except I guess that's not the right terminology since "checking" and "advertising expenses" are both accounts, so what I need to do is find something that belongs to two accounts. Using CTRL-F and also filters on reports, if I select multiple accounts in the filter I get things that belong to either account, when I really want things that belong to both accounts.
I am catching up on the reconciliation. I am trying to reconcile my checking account for April. I am unable to clear it because there was a payroll tax payment that cleared in April, but the date of the actual transaction is 05/02/22. I am unable to change the date and if I extend the statement ending date, it will ruin my current work...
