QuickBooks Q&A

I have an IT guru that I pay at the end of the year. He wants me to pull his EI and other taxes. I set him up last week. The only option I could find was for commision as salaried employees were paid out as per their salary, whether it was weekly, biweekly or monthlyI use QBO essentials with their standard payroll. Right now, as I ran payroll for everyone but him on Dec 16, it is showing I still need to run it for that payday. I didn't check his name. Usually each pay cycle everyone gets a check.Could I possibly just do a journal entry for him? If so, could someone share a screen shot? Ontario, 40K gros wage for the year, no EI as he doesn't reside in Canada but does want his CPP pulled as he is a CAD citizen.
Why has quickbooks changed the tax category on Tax Exempt past invoices for a whole month. Now those invoices are showing a balance. Going by the audit trail in QB it looks like something happened with month end reco or tax calculation. Not sure what. Please help. Thanks in advance

Last thread on this got deleted by QBO... big shock. Today, case ID: 1580182424been on hold for over an hour now, just trying to report that once again, email delivery of invoices is failing in the back end.Asked for escalation, 1 minute into the call... an hour later (not joking!) and she's now asking me how many different browsers I have tried.Ugh.Can you PLEASE train some of these people?Twice in the last year, you've raised your prices... yet nothing improves. Not the code, not the support, there are bugs that I reported two years ago, that I can still see. Do something, please! For god sake.
HiI have not filed through QB, but I have a refund from purchases that I created a GST receivable from. Now, when the refund hits my bank account, I cannot seem to offset the receivable. I get error messages - see below. How do I record this? Thanks!
Does anyone know if it's possible to change the naming convention of Sales Receipts? When I pdf the receipt for emailing it names the file "Cash_Sale_my company name etc.pdf". My company is a not-for-profit and I use Sales Receipts as Donation Receipts. The Cash_Sale file name on the receipt is problematic.ThanksAnn

We have been paying more and more vendors using online banking instead of issuing physical cheques. This works well except that the vendor no longer receives a cheque stub with the details as to which invoices we are paying. What I have been doing is printing the payment records from print forms to pdf, saving it to the hard drive and then emailing each vendor individually with the form attached. This is tedious as under print forms you can only select one at a time otherwise you get one document with multiple payment records for mutliple vendors. And then we have to create a separate email with their own form attached which can only be done manually. Is there not a way that we could send emails directly from QuickBooks (desktop)? Similar to sending invoices to customers. If we could mark each payment with a "send email" indicator and then run a batch at the end of the day this would reduce the workload significantly. Thanks for your helpJoanne
Hello,Product: Quickbooks Desktop ProLocation: Canada I am trying to record a fixed asset purchase, computer equipment paid by credit card, but also account for sales tax (HST).Have created the fixed asset account (and associated depreciation account for later use) for the item. As I understand it, the full acquisition cost of the asset should be recorded in the asset account, including taxes, freight costs etc. For example, equipment was $100 + 13% HST, so asset account should show $113 as cost. When recording the purchase, how do I setup the transaction, either through the credit card purchase screen or general journal? The problem is the sales tax amount. I need to record full asset cost, but at the same time have the $13 included in the sales tax report. Typically, on that purchase screen we enter the expense value as $100 and HST column calculates the right amount and will update the HST account. Total expense to vendor is correct ($113), the asset cost is recorded
Stay ahead of the game and learn how to have a successful year-end with QuickBooks Desktop. This post covers the highlights of year-end planning, but make sure to check out the linked article for a deeper dive into ending the year with QuickBooks Desktop. The year is coming to an end, which means it’s a great time for businesses to look back on everything that happened in 2022. It’s also the time to review account balances and financial records to identify any errors. Here are some things you should keep in mind as year-end approaches. Confirming the first month of your fiscal year can save you hours of headache. If the first month of your fiscal year is incorrect in your QuickBooks Desktop account, then all of your data and reports are going to be off. As you prepare for year-end, it’s a good idea to double-check that this timeline is correct. Year-end is also a great time to review customer and vendor accounts to make sure that any outs
I have received the worst customer service from a QuickBooks online Supervisor. I have been trying to get a refund for our QuickBooks Online payroll subscription that they have been charging us since JANUARY, which never worked, we never even could set up payroll, and we filed multiple complaints and requested support multiple times QuickBooks did NOTHING but keep charging us for the payroll portion. Now, they tell me they CANNOT refund me the full amount, how is that even possible? We never used it, we never were able even to set our employees up, and they never helped or solved any issue, why should we pay for a product that does not work? After thousands of calls and follow-ups taking me nowhere, I receive a call from Debbie Cole, a supervisor who was VERY VERY RUDE, hung off on my face, and did not do the minimum effort to solve my issue, the only thing she did was close the case and told me to take the three months refund and run, she literally told me that just take it and be hap
How do I get ride of WSIB that has been setup on an employee in error? The employee is exempt. Intuit has, so far, been of NO help.
Many of our suppliers offer split 30/60/90 day terms on their invoices, or offer spring terms with even amounts due over 3 or 4 months.e.g. invoice is for $300.00, $100 is due April 1st, $100 is due May 1st, $100 is due June 1st. Is there a way to create these split terms when entering a bill into QuickBooks Online?
We have employees that are paid on an hourly basis. With each pay cheque, the correct of CPP is deducted (Gross x 7%). However, at the end of the year, when generating the T4 slips, QB does not seem to take into account the Basic Exemption of $3,500.00. It seems to me that QB should know that for the first $3,500.00 of gross pay per calendar year, CPP should not be deducted, no?
Does Quickbooks essential with 3 users allow 3 different companies? Thank you.
