I'm used to doing manual payroll in a Quickbooks Desktop version and would like to avoid paying for Quickbooks payroll. Can I still do manual payroll in Quickbooks Online without paying for the Quickbooks Payroll Service?
When adding a new employee to Quickbooks - I want them to be able to use the self set up in Workforce. Most of our employees do NOT want direct deposit. Is there a way around that portion in the set up of their workforce to complete the set up?
With Online Payroll, when monthly is selected, there isn't an option to set the beginning of pay period. How do I account for pay periods that could have 4 weeks verses 5 weeks
I cannot pay weekly NY state withholding taxes in QB online payroll. My company is required to remit these payments 3 days after payroll, and have been doing so in QB desktop for the past 13 years without any difficulty. Since migrating to online last month, I get the message "The tax period hasn't ended yet. It's best to wait until period end because you can only make 1 payment. After that you can't create any more paychecks for the period." It then x's out all dates until the middle of April as being dates that I could file. I contacted QB payroll help, and after much unnecessary discussion, I was told to email them the letter from NY that states this 3 day requirement. So, the first payroll in January, I had to manually pay through the NY site, the second payroll it managed to go through QB, now with the 3rd payroll I am getting this message again. Why? This is extremely dissatisfactory.

How can I set up payroll so that the direct deposit can be completed the required two days in advance, but wait until the actual payday to make adjustments, prepare, and print the paper checks for those that do not have direct deposit.
payroll sent with wrong account number
My employee is not getting his paystub like he used to. I create a paychecks 2 employees and e-mail the 2 paystubs. QB says that both the e-mails are sent. In the employee sent e-mail it says that the e-mails are sent, but only 1 employee get the e-mail.It is send from a gmail account. Only 1 e-mail shows as sent in there. If I go in and send it again, the employee gets the e-mail, so I know its not getting blocked or going to spam. This has been happening for 2 months. The entire look of sending forms has changed. How can I get the e paystubs sent as 1 time.
I migrated to QB online payroll from Desktop in January, and spent several hours with payroll support because QB would not allow me to pay the NY State withholding taxes. I had to go to the NY State site to pay and record the payment as being done outside of QB. Then, in February, QB allowed me to pay the monthly withholdings electronically. Now for March, it is telling me again that it is too early to pay, the payment is not due until April 30th (which is incorrect) and it will not allow me to pay until April 16th. I just spent another hour with QB online payroll support and they don't know what they are doing, and had no help to offer except to force it through on their end. QB payroll did allow me to pay the Federal taxes electronically on the last day of these last 3 months, but it will not allow me to pay the State. Once again I had to go to the State site and mark it as paid outside of QB. I think QB wants their customers to use Paychex o
I need to get an employee's 2021 W2 but all it will give me is 2022. I am going to employees>payroll tax forms & W2's>process payroll forms>annual form W-2/W3>fill in the select employee portion> change the date in the select filing period portion...and it will only give me 2022. How do I get to the 2021 W2?
I've entered all pertinent direct deposit info but QB still says the employee is not enrolled in Auto-Pay
I can't find sample problem Craig's design and Landscaping services
Two employees in our organization are not able to access paystubs through Intuit Employee Workforce. When they are sent the Invite from Payroll Cloud Services they go through the process of setting up, but are stuck in a loop with the error "Looks like you don't have Workforce. There's no account attached to the email you entered. Contact your employer to create one for you."Both employees have used Intuit Workforce with previous employers and had not issue. We tried setting them up with a different email address... but they get the same error.I am unsure if I am missing a step that is causing an issue... but I haven't had an problem with getting other employees set up.We have Quickbooks Desktop. Is there anyone that can give me some advice?
I know that Intuit has a payroll card but does anyone know if the employer can get the cards to provide to employees when they get hired?
I have new employees and I want to generate a calendar or at least a list that outlines our payroll schedule. How do I generate one that is downloadable/printable for employees?
Ex: Pay period should be two weeks from Saturday to Friday. (2/10-22/2024), but Quickbooks is only offering me the choice of 2/10-23/2024.
My bank account is correct, but my QB account if not. It's a $500 difference. The check shows in the register and cashed by the bank, but did not subtract from my QB account.
I am trying to add my contractor who is setup in payroll to log time. However when I go into "Time" and then "Time Teams" and add it brings me to payrol. How do I add a contractor so they can log time?
they are also asking about insurance and HSA - all through my husband. Do I enter this here in my quickbooks self-employed, or wait until I'm back in turbotax and ready to enter my husbands data? We are filing jointly. It is very unclear whether this is the correct place to enter this information.
For my employees, when they are entering their service time. I just want them to see the options that pertain to them not all my service options. Same goes for products. How do I set it up so that I control what each employee sees for services when their service options are different because they have different roles?
New employee in withholdings (W-4 details) screen gets error message "Something's not quite right." Per previous instructions to resolve, employer manually entered all the withholdings (W-4 details) for new employee. That fix allowed for payroll to be run and employee is receiving direct deposits correctly. The original issue remains - the new employee logs into workforce.intuit.com and is put right back into the setup screen for withholdings which they still cannot bypass even though the data has been entered manually by the employer. How do we get around this so the employee isn't prompted to enter withholdings and can access their pay stubs and other features? Screen shot of error on last page of withholdings data entry:
I entered the wrong pay period on a paycheck and I would like to correct it in the register
One my quarterly payroll reports we have 2 transit taxes which are calculated by where in the state the employee works and the wages earned by working in those districts, not by where they live which is how QB is calculating using the gross empolyee wages if they live in the Transit district.
