Employees and payroll

I did a pay advance through payroll for $250.00. After taxes, the amount came to $203.50. I then went to our bank and did an ACH to the employee for $200 only, in error. (The employee kept telling me they needed $200 and I think that is why it was in my mind.)So now Quickbooks shows $203.50 coming out of our bank account back in December but it actually was just $200. The employee has already gotten their W-2 so I can not change the payment record for the employee. I thought I could do a Journal Entry giving $3.50 to deduce the balance on his pay advance as if he paid the 3.50 towards it, and do a 3.50 credit to the bank account in QuickBooks to offset the amount from -203.50 and a +3.50 to equal the 200.00 paid. Does this sound correct in my thought process? As I do not want to affect anything tax-wise or payroll-wise for December 2022. The JE would be dated 12/31/2022.
I ran payroll in the "Pay Employees" option in the Employees drop down. I chose to hand write the checks. The payroll shows correctly in the Payroll Transaction Detail report with the correct check numbers but the checks do not appear in the check register. How can I put the checks into the register?
I have quickbooks enterprise 21.0. I am getting a message stating I am missing payroll data and it might be due to using an old company file back up. My liabilities were paid and it shows that , my employees were paid but there are no transactions showing my employees were paid, COGS, expense account - etc 0- nothing. When I go to payroll window it is telling me I need to do payroll but if I do , then liabilities will be paid again and the money deducted from my bank account. I have no idea what to do and when I call QB tech support I am put on hold for over an hour and then hung up on.
I have been having a problem for some time now where QB payroll does not submit EFT payments for payroll taxes on time when it is set up for autopay. It used to be that we would run payroll on one month, and the payroll taxes would be due by the 15th of the following month (ex. 1/1/22 payroll would be due on 2/15/22). Because of the amount of payroll we are running now, the IRS has previously sent us a letter that payroll taxes must be submitted IMMEDIATELY upon running payroll. Quickbooks does not recognize this issue and continued paying on the 15th of the following month which led me to be fined by the IRS for a sizable amount. I called and was told that the QB payroll dates WERE right (despite definitely not being in my case) and that if I wanted to pay at a different date, I would have to do it manually. This is becoming extremely burdensome. My family got sick and I forgot to process it for about two weeks and wound up with another sizable bill from the IRS.

What is the process for reporting DB wages for a 1099 employee?
where do i go t print 2020 and 2019 w2s already filed
Third month of using QB Online after migrating from ten years of stable QB Desktop installs, for a small church, with 3-6 employees.. I hate it so far and we'll have gone from paying exactly $24.95/year (for a third-party W2 service) to over $1800/year. I previously ran payroll manually and had access to a QB Desktop install for other work I do for a business. I am subscribed to Quickbooks Plus and Quickbooks Online Payroll Core. On the Dashboard, under the Employees section, if I click on Enter time, a screen comes up that says "We're sorry, we can't find the page you requested". And, if I click on the Payroll link from the Dashboard screen, I get "Page not found! Go back to qbo.intuit.com". I have found a way to enter time for our lone hourly employee somewhere and I can get to the overall Payroll screen from the menu on the left. On a related note to broken links, when I signed up at the end of last year, I did NOT want Intuit filing tax
What terminated employee data migrates over from DeskTop to OnLine? Multiple cases unresolved with last one resulting in QB tech deleting almost 300 inactive employees including some that were active at time of migration. The migration issue was probably a result of our making employees inactive without a termination date, however, I don't think deleting these records resolve the issue as there will be no inactive employee records.
We pay half of the employees health insurance. One employee cancelled most of hers and I'm unsure why it's taken the insurance company this long to fix it. But now her part of our insurance statement comes out to -58.00 this month bc they are crediting for the past two months that it's been paid. In order for my liability check to come out right, I need to be able to enter a negative amount for the company contribution on her check, but it won't let me.
I need to speak to someone higher up at QB Online Advanced and I do not know what to do. Someone who assured me they could help me when I asked to speak to a supervisor after wasting over an hour of my time swore they would be able to assist me. They created a bigger mess of the 1st mess that I had created by another QB rep. All I get is the run around when I call QB or chat with anyone and I am transferred to 5-10 different departments. I have been signed up for all different QB my CC has been charged for all of these QB accounts then they get canceled and now I was signed up for a QB that is not even comparable to what we was supposed to have. We are supposed to have QB Advanced. QB Payroll premium, and QB time is supposed to be included. My QB is so messed up I do not know where to even begin. I refuse to call another QB number and get transferred to different people who CAN NOT help me. I do not know what to do. I am about to close all of my QB accounts, payroll, and QB time accoun
I have an salaried employee who has exceeded her allowed vacation time for the year. How do I adjust her paycheck for this? I want to reduce it for the week that she is out on vacation but keep the annual salary amount going forward after that.
I am so tired of having to switch to INCOGNITO mode to see all my tax filings. I had an employee that needed a W2 today and when I looked at the the tax filings under my regular login I could see W2s, but it did not show the date that it was submitted and I could not open them. So I switched to incoginito mode and was able to see the date that the W-2s were submitted and print a copy of the W2 for the employee. INTUIT...... PLEASE FIX THIS PROBLEM!!!!! Clearing the cache doesnt fix this.Thank youLDOquickbook online payroll coreintuit payroll user since 2010. Intuit didnt have all these little quirks!!!!!
In Quickbooks Online, we setup two employees with deductions for the company retirement plan. We have both a 401(k) and a Roth 401(k), and the two employees were setup incorrectly as going to the 401(k), not the Roth 401(k), which was where it should have been set to allocate to. It was caught after payroll was run, but before contributions were deposited into the retirement accounts. Is there any way to move their deductions to the proper account after payroll is finalized? We can deposit the cash correctly on the retirement end so I'm not worried about putting the money where it should go, but my concern is the Retirement Plans report will be off since it will show deposits into the wrong 401(k) account for each employee.
We are unable to retrieve payroll information in employee xml response in QB Desktop
So Intuit decided to change the payroll interface so that you can't go back more then 3 months. Thanks for the notice! I wish I had never heard of your company or your product.
One W-2 had incorrect SSN. The other two had incorrect local witholding and need adjustments in their figures
I cannot find the expense category for Business Payroll. Is it called something different. I am in self-employed Quickbooks, but I do also have 1 employee and also pay fees to company to do payroll and filing for me.
Hello,I am using QB Desktop, it calculates payroll taxes wrong. It calculates wrong some employees, such as CA - Unemployment, CA - Employment Training Tax are "$0.00". Also, Medicare, Social Security, and Federal Unemployment taxes are wrong calculated lower than the rate for some employees. So, even though I pay for the payroll service, I calculate manually every pay period. If this problem not solved, I have a plan to change other accounting program. Anybody can give me a recommendation better software than Quickbooks?
Hello all,I'm new to QB and this is the first time I'm trying to add someone to payroll. I want to employ my 14year old son and add him to payroll. When registering for payroll QB is asking me for a SUI registration number that I need to get for the DoL. When I call the Department of Labor in CT they say I do not need one as the state of CT does not consider significant other or your own children under the age of 21 as an employee. I cannot move forward with the Payroll process as they keep on asking me for the unemployment identification number. I've been on the phone with several QB representatives that have not helped as they all keep on telling me I need to get that number from the DoL but when I try to register for it from the DoL website they won't let me continue since I mention the employee would be my less than 21year old son. Any workaround as to how to get this done? Thanks.
