Hi, Can someone help me to understand how to calculate the amount to pay for worker's compensation for my employees. I can do it using Quickbooks desktop, but I am learning Quickbooks online and I still can't figure it out. I can see a dollar amount for Premium Wages Paid, but how is this amount calculated? Also, I am not using AP Intego Worker's compensation, so I believe everything needs to be manually. Can anybody explain the difference between using Intuit & AP Intego vs another company please? Thank you in advance for your help.
How do I set up an employee as exempt from withholdings only? I don't see where I can mark the employee as exempt.
We are nonprofit and need to track our expenses as "management" or several "functional" categories for reporting on our Form 990. We use classes to track this for expenses and it works fine. We also have to track certain expenses towards grants and we accomplish this using projects. We also need to track our executive director's (ED) wages to either "management" or "functional" (classes) and their time allocated to work paid by a grant (projects). Prior to using QBO Payroll we entered this information in QBO in by separating the ED's payroll check into the appropriate classes and projects. Now that we are using QBO Payroll, I cannot specify classes or project to the ED's time. Questions:1) How can we accomplish something similar with QBO Payroll?2) Can we assign classes or projects to payroll somehow?3) Could I make an annual adjustment using Journal Entries?4) Would QuickBooks Time solve this
I updated an employees Gross Annual Salary under the Employee/Edit/Payroll tab but when I review their paycheck detail the amount is not updated. Seems pretty simple, but maybe I am missing a step. Any help is greatly appreciated... Thank you!
What is the best way to add insurance compensation to gross pay for a pastor that doesn't create a paycheck?
Why won't my payroll run?
2 Board members are already employees on payroll, but I need to pay board members separate from just normal payroll. Also, is there a certain way I pay Holiday Bonus?
QB says 1 day until Payday. Today is only the 28th. Payday is on 12/31/21. Can I finish payroll tomorrow the 29th?
I'm trying to add S Corp Owner's health insurance to the owner's payroll in QB Online via Run Payroll: Fringe Benefit Only. I can add the fringe benefit amount and override the employee's Federal & NY state tax withholdings, but the system doesn't allow me to override the local NY City withholding tax. Why and is there any workaround?
When I create an invoice using my QB online app (Android), it will default back to standard Texas rates @ 6.25%, instead of the combined rate of local and state being 8.25%. No matter how many times I change it, it will not add the combined tax rate.
QB says 1 day until payday. This in only the 28th
I have had a lot of issues lately, so my story is long as to how I ended up here, but I am needing to back out of sending direct deposits and cut paper checks instead since the checks are not able to be submitted for DD. Is there any way I can do this? Once again, they have not been sent, so the checks are just sitting there "to send".
when I try to file my 1099 all my contractors payments show up as being below threshold(when they are not). It appears that the NEC value in Zero and Excluded value is equal to the payment I made. Why are my contractors showing up as Exlcuded from 1099 when I have them enabled for 1099 tracking? I have tried everything at this point and read all message boards on this subect. Please help asap
Our business is based in Florida but we have an office in Georgia. As of 1/1/2020 one of our employees became a resident of Florida, he had been a resident of Georgia. We neglected to reflect this change in his paycheck. He is paid once a month on the first. So from 1/1 to 5/1/2020 we have withheld $656.45 that we should not have. In addition we deposited with the GA Department of Revenue our first quarter withholding which was $393.87 more than it should have been. As I seen it I need to: Pay the employee the $656.45 that was withheld in error.File an amended 1st quarter return to the GA Department of Revenue How do I do this in Quickbooks? I am using Quickbooks Desktop 2020 Professional Services edition on a PC with Windows 10 Pro 64 bit. I also use the payroll subscription service.Send an amended return to the GA Department of Revenue for the 1st quarter.
We have a new client who has just provided us with his Quickbooks Desktop file from his previous accountant. All payroll detail is within the software, but the previous CPA was using a different payroll software to calculate the paychecks and liabilities, then re-entering the calculated data to QB. Is there a way to change these "checks" to "paychecks" without reentering everything in the Payroll Setup process? The data is already there, it just is categorized as a check instead of a paycheck and not showing up on any of the payroll reports.
My insurance is requesting the last four Forms 941 submitted by QB in order to close out my audit. It cant just be copy pasted or filled out, they are requesting the top page. Thank you
Hi, We use ADP to pay an owner and an employee their wages. The wages come in automatically from a synced bank account as one transaction that includes the owner's pay and the employee's pay. But even with "Split" there is only one "Vendor/Customer" and one Category, so we can't attribute a portion to Owner's Pay and another portion to "Wages". How do we enter these transactions properly? Thank you!
