I have Quickbooks Online Advanced with Classes. I can not seem to find a way to set up my vendors with a default class. I also don't seem to be able to create rules for my banking synchronization that would allow me to assign the proper class to a rule. Am I missing something, this seems like a very basic thing that many people using classes would need an option for. Thank you. Chuck
I am new to QBO. After opening the Categorized page of my bank account the screen has for every transaction a square box on the extreme left, an "Added or Matched" column, and "Action" column with "UNDO" entries. What do the squares represent, and what's the meaning or purpose of "UNDO"?ZD
I have a situation where I need to refund a customer after an invoice has been paid, and I have tried the following steps:1) Create Credit Memo2) Create Expense/Check3) Apply the Expense/Check via "Receive Payments"The end result is that the Customer has a "0" balance, however, when I run a P&L find that both the Expense/Check & the Credit Memo are showing up under "Unapplied Cash Payments". Can you help me to understand why this is happening, and what if anything I can do to resolve this issue.

I know this is an unusual situation, but we use QB Enterprise 2023 in a PC multi-user environment. We have just introduced a iMac Pro into our system and purchased QB Enterprise for Mac.After doing so, we discovered a file compatibility issue even though the iMac is using a Intel processor and works great with other programs on the network. I know, if we were to run a dedicated iMac environment we could convert the files and share among any other iMacs that might need to run OQ Enterprise. Since we do not see that conversion anytime soon, do any of you have any thoughts as to how they can co-exist at the same time? I appreciate your thoughts.
I have a 3rd party app that can let me upload pdf's of receipts. They have the option to upload as bills or receipts. I want to attach /match these pdfs to existing transactions from the bank feeds is this possible? They don't have a way to import as receipts
Background in a nutshell, but not necessarily needed: bills come in to QBO from a 3rd party import. Then, once paid, checks are also imported. Normally, we go into the check, and click "add bill" on the right hand drawer/panel to associate check with bill, and that changes it to a "billpmt - check" and closes the AP. It seems QBO recently took that side panel (add bill) away. So, you would want to use Vendors > Pay Bills, and click off the bill, as the check will be a credit there. BUT- the reason we don't like to use this, is it seems to NOT turn the check into a billpmt - check. We've tried it several times... So, my question is two-fold: 1. Does anyone know how to get the side panel (add bill) back in the check screen? Is there a setting or something I don't know about or is this feature just gone? 2. Does anyone know why it wouldn't turn the check into a "billpmt-check" upon using the 'credit' in Vendors > Pay Bills? Thanks for any help/feedback
Windows 10 Computer with Quickbooks PRO Desktop 2020 - not using payroll or other add ons.Tried every tip I found on forum and online - still only works for a few minutes and then freezes up. Hard to do business with this happening.I went to task manager and to details tab and made sure QB processes were removed from the details tab. Then start QB as administrator. didn't work. after startup before opening QB, went to Task Manager ->Details tab.Showed QBFC Monitor Service and QBIDP Service.exe as Running and Not Allowedand QBIDPService.exe running and Disabled . Ended those before opening QB.Went to programs and looked for the QBWUSER.INI file and it is enabled.updates is disabled - that is probably because it is no longer supported.I ran verify data, no errors found, ran QB file doctor -> said repairing.I don't know if it repaired itself when it is not supported.And I checked that it is not blocked by Norton.Ran an update on Quickbooks but it was after service ended.I am nearing

I made a payment over the phone with a debit card to a vendor who accidentally ran the card for $300 more than the invoice, they have since refunded the $300. Now I can't categorize the bill since the amount was more than what I entered the bill for. I understand how to apply the refund but not sure how to categorize the $300.00 over charge.
I added a custom field called "Vendor Type" which I have used several times before, but the list of options no longer appears to select from when entering a new vendor or editing an existing vendor. We recently integrated QBO with Bill.com. Could that have affected custom fields in any way? What could be the reason the options are no longer available to choose from?
The instructions for configuring the toolbar say to control click within the toolbar. When I do this, all I get is info on the closest existing icon - no way to add new icons. Wrong instructions also in LittleSquare (or whatever they call it). Nothing useful in Preferences or Company. How do I add an icon? This should be ridiculously simple but it's not. It worked in QB 2016.
Since the lastest update we seem to be having a issue with receiving inventory. ie: we received 200 gallons against a purchase order that is qty 400 gallons. The purchase order is closed and it received 400 gallons...any idea why or how to fix this?

Hi, I'm having issues opening my company file. When talking to support they said the company file damage is 78%. How do I fix this? I'm getting a lot of the following error codes as well (below). Hello, I use Quickbooks 2019 for Mac version V.18.0.12.R13. For the past two years, I have been downloading the file and exporting to Quickbooks for Windows for my bookkeeper who uses Desktop Pro Plus 2023 for Windows 11. All of a sudden, she can't open my files and is getting the error message, your subscription has expired with a button to renew subscription. I don't get that error message. Anyone have a clue what we can do. She called QB support and was on for an hour with no solution. Thank you.
We have projects that take a year or more to complete. Our estimates are created in our project management software and then entered into QuickBooks once the job is sold. Frequently, we have change orders or other reasons why the estimate needs to be modified. When the estimate was created in a period that has been closed, we are unable to change it without a password from our accountant. I know that estimates are non-posting transactions and don't affect books, but we rely on them in QB for tracking purposes, specifically the Estimates and Progress Invoicing by Customer report. Is there any way to either enable editing of previous year estimates or some other solution to this? I don't want to bother our accountant with things that don't affect our books.
A refund check was issued for $765, however, in the Transactions tab to the right, it says the check was for $605. Therefore, it shows a credit balance still out there for $160. How can I get the amount of the refund check to show the correct amount? If I click on it and it takes me to the bank register, it shows $765. Why does it keep showing $605??? and how do I correct it? Screenshot attached.
In our old desktop version, you could track a vendors works comp and general liability. We have switched to Quickbooks online version. Is there a way to track the insurance for vendors?
We have hundreds of job expenses charged to credit cards, which are automatically added with bank feeds imports/ rules.The problem is, each of those then needs to be linked to a customer job. I have used QuickBooks desktop products for 20 years, but I can't recall any feature that allows for bulk editing the customer/job field for existing transactions. Is there any way to quickly add jobs to expenses that are already entered, other than going through the transactions one at a time and adding it manually? The bank feeds rules expedite all of those tedious entries (by importing vs manually entering), but they come short when it comes to the jobs detail. Surely, there's a solution for this that I just not be aware of?
Every time I add an expense when reconciling, my expense disappears and does not show up on my reconcile page. Why is this happening?
When you select W3 it has a view tab and it will not pull up the report.
