We have been using a third bedroom as the home office.We will be framing in a new office in an unfinished basement for the business. I know repairs to a home office that apply to just that office are deductible. Would this be deductible like a repair to an existing office?
I am writing to request a detail of filing a W-2 C and W-3 C for the year 2023 and also I didn't run my payroll on QuickBooks any product the payroll run on a payroll service provide (ADP) so can I able to buy specific subscription of QuickBooks to just file W-2 C and W-3 C for the year 2023?
I am having an issue where my sales are not showing on my revenue account. If i pull up my sales report, they are higher than my Revenue account on the P&L. I pinpointed the issue - some items are posting to the COGS account instead of revenue and I cannot seem to fix it. This is the invoice, line item #1 incorrectly posts to COGS while line item #2 correctly posts to Revenue. This is the transaction journal where you can see how they post. Now, here is the product from #1 and how it is set up correctly in QBO products and services.
When I enter in the login information on both bank accounts on file, it says "Looks like the connection to (bank name) isn't available right now. Try again in a few hours. (4000)".
Want to go back to my lifetime license on Desktop 2020 instead of my subscription on Desktop 2024. I installed Desktop 2020 on different PC with and activated new install with old license. No problem. Transferred company QBB files (which were backed up from Desktop 2024) to new the PC downloads folder but when I attempt to use QB 2020 to "restore back up of company file", it doesn't even recognize that there are any QBB files in the folder where they are. I attempted also copy the actual QBW file to the new PC and simply open the company but again it doesn't even "see" the file.I assume when 2024 "rebuilds" the company file it changes it so 2020 doesn't recognize it anymore???How to I migrate the company files back to 2020?
Most of my memorized reports have glitches since the last QB Update. I have had to delete and remake them which is frustrating. The one I am struggling with is the pending sales report. the default report is blank! When I removed some of the filters (posted only, summary only) I end up with a report that shows vendor payments, inventory adjustments, journal entries, etc. I need to submit this next week and need help. I tried some other reports and filters for estimates only but also ran into a brick wall!
How can I get the system to allow the catchup contribution as well as a company contribution for an employees end of the year check?

I recently did a batch invoice download where I invoiced 15 customers at once. It saved a lot of time. The one massive issue that I realized after I had the invoices created was that they were uploaded on the "modern" invoice design that Quickbooks created. They didn't upload to the template I created and use for invoicing. This template is my "default" and will be used every time I create a single invoice but it isn't used when using batch invoicing. Is there a way to get the custom invoice template for Batch Invoicing? Or is there a way to change the "modern invoice" that Quickbooks created and put as their invoice and change it to the exact version I want to use. Either way would help with this very valuable Batch Invoicing system. I hope this makes sense!
Hello! For multiple clients, I have received a live file directly from QuickBooks Desktop despite the clients sending them via the proper path. For reference, the path used was Send Company File -> Accountants Copy -> Remove Restrictions and Send to Accountant. Both times, I guided my client through the process and both times I received a live file instead of an Accountants Copy. Why is this happening? How do I fix it? For reference, this has happened twice, but all my other clients I've received the proper file when I guide them through sending an accountants copy.
I can't find any way to unsubscribe from community updates. I still want to receive the product emails I've been receiving before joining the community. I just do not want to be inundated with every comment, like, badge, etc. Is there a way to stop those emails?
We installed the lastest update V34.0DR13 dated 02/21/2025We are noticing an error on several reports.We printed an employee report with the following criteria DATENUMSOURCE NAMESSN/TAXIDPAYROLL ITEMAMOUNT CALCULATED AMOUNT. Everything looks good visually on the screen but when you print the report The only thing that prints isNumdate Source name -is blank everything else is moved over a column and the amount is not printing at all. It's not on a separate page.you can change to protrait mode. Now we put this in excel and you will notice that the source name is move over under ssn/tax id. And everything is moved over a column.
For some reason shogo has quit syncing with my POS CoreStore.
Last we we got a notice that there was an update for our QB. We did the update and today found out while doing payroll that since the update our memorized payroll reports no longer reflect what we need. The computer that has not been updated yet still has the reports right. is this a known issue?
Good morning,A loan that was registered through Loan Manager was being paid in monthly installments through Loan Manager, and everything was in order. However, the situation changed this January when the total payment was made. The person who made the full payment did not process it through Loan Manager but instead made it directly to the account. As a result, the balance was not deducted in Loan Manager, and when checking the balance there, it still shows an outstanding amount.How can I settle this balance and remove it from Loan Manager without affecting my accounting records?Could someone please assist me? I would appreciate your assistance. I am using QuickBooks Desktop 2021.
Is there any way to get a report in QB Desktop Enterprise that either lists the checks for a date range that includes the Bills that they paid?Or conversely, a report that lists all the bills in a date range and the check number that paid it?If not in QB, any suggestions on 2 reports to export to Excel that I can use a VLookup formula to match up the bills & checks?

My Icon Bar automatically keeps changing to left icon bar.I prefer to have the top icon bar.Ever since I updated my Quickbooks Premier Plus to 2024, the icon bar keeps reverting to left icon bar.I keep changing it to top icon bar.I'm the only one that is regularly using Quickbooks on this computer, so I know it is not someone else reverting it to left icon bar.It happens when Quickbooks is either minimized or while the computer is in sleep mode.Is anyone else having this issue?
I am trying to understand the disposal process within Fixed Asset Manager (FAM). I have a truck that needs to be disposed of and removed from our books. I take the steps to dispose of the asset within FAM and save. However, the asset is still appearing in FAM as well as our Fixed asset list and on our books within QB. Am I missing a step or does FAM does not update the actual QB file? I know the sync, just confused as to what other steps I would need to take!
I have a client who uses QuickBooks online for payroll. There were some issues earlier in the year that had to be corrected by filing Amended 941s. We filed the W-3 and W-2s directly with the SSA to make sure the amounts were correct. However, Online QuickBooks shows the W-3/W-2 task as open, forms needed to be e-filed. Is there a way I can mark this task completed so it does not keep popping up? Thanks in advance.
I set up the Maine PMFL with the incorrect number of employees. 1 checked 1-14, it needs to be 15 or more but I can't see how to change it. I have not issued any paychecks yet this year. Thanks.

I added a fringe benefit payroll item (Company Contribution type, Fringe Benefits tracking type) to increase gross pay for two employees without increasing net pay. That worked fine. The problem I'm having is the Company Contribution type of payroll item required a liability account to be assigned. Therefore, after creating a paycheck for the employees with the fringe benefit item added, the payroll liability account was increased by the ENTIRE amount of the fringe benefit, rather than just the amount of the withholding taxes pertaining to that fringe benefit. I can't figure out how to eliminate the excess liability (total fringe benefit minus withholding taxes) from my balance sheet.Thank you for whatever help you can provide.(FYI - I used the Company Contribution type of payroll item because the employees didn't receive cash as a fringe benefit, but a benefit where all expenses had been paid by the company.)
There was a recent release to Quickbooks desktop, and we turned on purchase orders and pricing.Right now, I cannot run Customer invoice reports and see the amounts, or see the ship to state.There is a filed Adj. Cost that appears on banking and customer reports that are not available on the tab to display fields. When I choose the Ship to state, the field does not appear on the report. We recently enabled pricing levels, and enabled inventory and purchase orders.I cannot determine why the banking and customer reports have changed. Losing the ability to see the ship to state prevents me from reporting sales tax by stateAny ideas?
