I'm looking for suggestions on recording collection notes (regarding customer past due invoices) in QBO. I would like to record what I've done in order to collect payments that would ideally print on the Collections Report. I currently use a custom field on the invoice but it's not enough room in a lot of cases.
Hello,I recently started a new job with a fairly large company and somehow, the books are a complete disaster. A previous empoyee made a huge mess out of everything and for the life of me, I can't seem to fix it. The bank account dates back to 2015 and not a single time was this account reconciled correctly. The balance is hundreds of thousands of dollars off. I've printed out bank statements but can only get as far back as 2021 for them. But is this even smart to do? I don't want to mess up anything from previous years but I don't think it can be messed up anymore than it already is. Do you have any suggestions for how I can at least get this year accurate, even if it involves making a new company file or something? Thanks!
Is it possible to block the option to add more than one credit card/cash check with the same number?

I have a customer that paid an invoice with a credit card, and then a week later sent in an ACH for the same invoice. QBO help says to 1) Apply the payment to a different invoice, 2) refund the customer, or 3) record the overpayment as a tip. I don't really want to do any of these. I just want to turn the "Unapplied" balance into a Credit Memo and use the "send" feature to notify the customer of the credit. The customer can then choose to apply that credit to a future invoice of their choosing to keep their system and mine in sync. If I apply the unapplied balance to some other random invoice of theirs, they invariably seem to pay that invoice in full, creating a mess. So is there a way to turn that "Unapplied" balance into a credit memo? I can't for the life of me figure out how. The closest I've maybe come is to delete the ACH payment, and create a credit memo for that amount, but that just seems wrong - e.g. deleting all the ACH payment info.Thanks for any help.
I want to print the most current pay stub based on my direct deposit. It needs to show BOTH my legal name and SSN number. Is there a way to print a Social Security Number on the Pay stub? Thank you.
I’m reaching out because I’m honestly a bit frustrated by the recent November update to QuickBooks and hoping to get some clarity. In the release notes, it was mentioned that more columns would be available in the modern reports, which was a big plus for us—we rely on these reports for integrations, and we were moving everything over to modern reports specifically because all the needed columns were finally available.However, after the update, I noticed that several of these crucial columns have suddenly disappeared (eg: addresses in vendor and customer contact lists, etc....). We’ve waited quite a while for the reports to have the right data, only to find out it’s now been taken away. This change is throwing a wrench in our processes, and I’m struggling to understand why such a shift would be made after encouraging users to adopt modern reports.Could someone please explain why these columns were removed? Strange error when categorizing transactions. An error message window appears and immediately disappears. And so with all transactions. That is, this is not my mistake during the process, but rather a software error of Quickbooks.
In QuickBooks Online, for 'taxagency' API, order by is not working properly with DisplayName.It is giving below error "Message": "Invalid query", "Detail": "QueryValidationError: Property DisplayName not found for Entity TaxAgency", "code": "4001"Earlier it was giving result in reverse order, if we provide order by ASC then result it gives in descending order and if we provide order by DESC then result it gives in Ascending order.Please let us know about this behavior.Thanks!!
Every time I have attempted to contact support it is an absolute nightmare. Most of the time the first interaction is being informed that I'm not actually even talking to the right support team, even though it's exactly where I was directed to from their own platform. The first time I had to contact support they sent me to the other team, only for them claim that they weren't the right team either and just sent me back to the previous team I was talking to anyways. It feels ridiculous that a company that enables B2B work, has absolutely no B2B relations itself. My business moves all of our money through Intuit Quickbooks, yet we don't even have a point of contact, and that is not for a lack of trying. So when we, or one of our customers, has a problem with payments, then we are stuck speaking to a random chat representative who usually does absolutely nothing to help.
Our bank account was hacked. We have used an employees credit card for material charges. How do I enter those charges and reimbursement into Quickbooks?
What is up with quickbooks??? its like everything they do is absolutely stupid!!! if there's a hard way to do it and make sure it docent work then that the intuit way of life!!! desktop is an update every other day and constant problems and has ZERO chance of working like a true "enterprise" software. The title is merely a trick to bait and switch people into buying this garbage, then once they have your data they make it absolutely redicilous to transfer it out! quickbooks online can't even export to quickbooks desktop so once they bait you into the switch your screwed!!!! Now they hide the download link like it's a national security secret or something!!! Quickbooks has became the absolute laughing stock of accounting!!! Only reason they can take this is because they are so big! They absolutely SCREW OVER EVERYONE!!!!!!! You couldn't pay me to buy in if I could turn back the hands of time to when I first started! now they have my data and make it and absolute nightmare to get it out

We don't do payroll send our handfull of 1099 contractor info to accountant after downloading from QB. Address is not one of the available fields on the 1099 Transaction Rpt. How do I get this info out of Online without having to update my excel spreadsheet manually????

Why do discounted/written off invoices appear on sales in the P/L Report under cash basis accounting in Quickbooks Desktop? We have uncollectible invoices and I have written off these invoices by discounting the invoices charging it to bad debt. When I generate the P/L Statement under cash basis, these invoices appeared in the Sales line item. How to generate a P/L report that does not include these written off/discounted invoices? I am about to leave QB after 25 years because they made a change during an update that allows our accounting clerks to bring up the payroll check detail by person simply by opening a vendor check and clicking on the detail button. So if I want to look at the detail for vendor ABC, it always starts with the entire payroll. QB is not interested in changing this.
We are trying to set up EFT payments for the State of Colorado, it asks for a 10 digit EFT number. The State of Colorado no longer issues these number. Is there anyway to work around this?

Snapping receipts, Everytime, it says "Missing info". So I have to click on the receipt, in the review tab, and Add Payment Accout. but I only have one option in the "Add Payment Accout". is there any way I can just set something as a default so I do not have to do this every single time?
I'm trying to reconcile my checking account. One payroll tax liability (fed. tax payment) is not showing up on my register. It was paid using Employees...Create Custom Liability Payments, like always. It's not showing as an unpaid liability, meaning I can't use pay it now. Any ideas what happened and how to fix this?
