QuickBooks Q&A

I just transferred my credit card account to QB's to get a more accurate picture of my small company. When I purchase items for my business, to resale, with the credit card, they are booked to expense-inventory. When I make a payment, I book it to credit card payment which is a liability account. Both items seem to be increasing the liability account instead of the payment decreasing the account. What am I doing wrong? Where do I book the items for resale and the payment? Thank you for all your help.

I believe these old employees, most of whom haven't been with us since before COVID and don't even appear on the list every time we search for employees, are preventing us from importing our current employees.
My client has a lot of duplicate transactions because they manually entered ones that were downloaded by the bank. So now I need to delete the duplicates and in some cases the downloaded ones of have a "cleared" status. The manual ones have a "reconciled" status. Can I just delete the cleared ones?
find a previous invoice
All of the billable charges are wanting to create invoices most of them are workers comp charges so when we go in and get rid of them they are creating income to our account. we want to avoid that and just do not know the right steps to go about it.
How do I turn off that prompt? We have to say no every time we save an invoice, and it is a huge pain when we're creating multiple invoice for the same customer. I need the "update" turned off!
We have 648 recurring transactions, invoices, with customers and have a customized template. The new QB automatically changed to the Modern template, which I am not able to adjust, and I need the shipping address on the invoices.
Hello, I have an issue that I cannot figure out for the life of me, and i don't even know where to being. I am a very small business, and when I pay sales tax, on the Liability report it shows;"Total sales, non-taxable sales, taxable sales, tax rate, tax collected, and tax payable." (cash basis)for the entire use of quick books, the sales tax collected, matched the sales tax payable.something happened last quarter that it now shows the tax collected and double or triple the tax payable.and when i go back and run previous reports the numbers are different. IE: my 1st quarter tax printout (thank god i print them) says 1002.77 collected and 1002.77 payable, printed in April of 24.when I run that SAME REPORT today, it says 1002.77 collected and 2989.54 payable for that time period, for a 2886.77 difference that wasn't there in the first quarter and the payable number just keeps changing every quarter since. Apparently this started the 2nd quarter of this year and i must have
In the never ending saga of "how did this get worse" with QBO - Bank Transactions used to only show an unclassified transaction 'indicator' (with the number of transactions to classify) on an account when there were transactions to classify. After some recent update - this now shows an indicator and '0' under every synced account. This is a degradation in user experience requiring you to now look at that number on every account to be sure there are no transactions to classify. Is this a bug or just a sloppy implementation? Please make it make sense.

I have my labor service set to services income account but it still is not showing on my P&L under services
We use QuickBooks Enterprise Solutions Desktop - Contractor 21.0 Does anyone know of a good AP workflow automation software that installs locally and stores invoice images locally? I have looked at Bill.com, Centsoft, Stampli, MineralTree, AvidXChange, Beanworks and all have fallen short of what I am looking for. I am used to software like Sage Paperless and Timberline Paperless This is my preferred process (all performed inside AP software)Scan in batches of invoices into AP Software (one file)Go through & quickly separate the batch file into individual invoices (typically by just clicking the spacebar)Switch to coding screenCode invoices and then click submitThen various rules are automatically ran in background to assign approvers based on job #, vendor #, Invoice $$, etc.Invoice then routes through all levels of approvalsOnce highest level of approval has been completed, then invoice is ready for payment Below is a list of problems I ran into with the above
Is it possible to retrieve the information from my last payroll on 10/25/2024
In my client's bank and credit card reconciliations, the Register balances don't match with the amounts in the balance sheet of the same date. How do I fix this issue? Thanks 🙏
I've been informed by QBks that QBO won't allow reconciliations for balance sheet accounts that aren't bank accounts or credit cards. I have reconciled A/R and A/P and even Inventory accounts in Desktop versions for years. Now, I open the A/R register, see the "Reconcile" button VERY BRIEFLY before it disappears. I was given full admin access to our QBO account and still the reconcile button disappears after showing up for 1/2 a second. Why won't QBO allow reconciliations for these balance sheet accounts? Thanks,Shirley [Removed]
We upfit police vehicles with parts provided to us by suppliers such as Whelen and Progard. We are considering adding Katana for Inventory Management. Do you know of any users that can provide first hand insight on their experience with the Katana software and its integration with QBO??
