QuickBooks Q&A

Hello, geniuses 🙂 I've been doing bookkeeping for many years, but I'm not a trained bookkeeper, so I learn a lot as I go from my CPA. At once point, he instructed me to close out the previous year's retained earnings every year on January 1st, so I do. I do this by a journal entry debiting the retained earnings account and crediting each partner's capital account accordingly. I'm just now noticing, while running a report of the retained earnings account, that each of these annual debits just puts the retained earnings further and further in the negative. Is this normal? It kind of makes the retained earnings account useless. Is it possible that Quickbooks is NOT moving the net income to retained earnings at the end of each year? If it were, then my journal entry would simply zero out the net earnings account. Thanks for your help.
QBO claims they sent a payment to a bank belonging to my vendor but that account never recived the $$.
Buen día Tengo una pregunta en mi plan de cuentas tengo la cuenta Cash Rewards Business cargada en "debe" cuando por ser pasivo debería de estar abonado en el "haber", la pregunta es por qué razón esta en el "debe", muestro imagen.
I'm on QBAccountant, and I am receiving a blind carbon copy of every invoice that is being sent out by one of my clients. I have checked the settings both on the firm side, and on the client side and there are no default emails in the Sales section. SS attached. So why am I receiving these emails? I have considered setting a rule in my inbox to ignore things from QB but that seems risky. [Screenshot removed contains PII: Email Address]
Hi,When I click on the customer tab to see my open invoices - the amount of open invoices it says I have has doubled over night. It seems like Quickbooks is counting each invoice twice and also counting every line on the invoice as another open invoice. I'm not sure why this changed since I only have 217 invoices open but it now saying I have 485. Is this a new feature to count every service on the invoice as a new open invoice? I prefered it when it just counted the invoice as one open invoice no matter how many services were on the invoice. I'm sorry if this is confusing - just wondering why the change?

Is there a way to have the PO # as a column when you look up your bills to pay without having to click the link of the PO attached to the bill? Just want something to see 'at a glance', so I can save some time clicking around to find the info. Thx!

Before my time, an employee applied a payment to a customer account but there wasn't an invoice created for that payment. I'm cleaning up A/R aging. This was done in a prior year. I need to remove the credit balance on the customer account. HOW? Michelle
Does anyone know how to correct the AR aging report. The B/S and COA are correct but the aging is out of balance. If I post an J/E to try and correct, it throws the other reports out of balance.
Does anyone know if QB Enterprise is compatible with US Bank SinglePoint?Specifically using QB bill pay and importing bill payments file to SinglePoint to print and mail checks directly

We have a client who has QuickBooks Online Premium Payroll. We have set up a garnishment to be withdrawn from the employees pay, but is there a way to set up automatic weekly payments to the correct agency without having to print a check and mail it? I cannot seem to find an article to help, and when I call QBs I cannot seem to get an answer. Thank you!

When I try to link my local Credit Union (Mountain America Credit Union) I get the referenced error. Obviously, this is an error, as MACU is a United States (Intermountain west financial institution). Is there a way to fix this?
Both Enterprise and Online offer Non-Profit as an option for defining the company type when ordering / setting up a company in QuickBooks. Unfortunately, there are some things that they drop the ball at: * In Reports, they continue to list "Profit & Loss" as various reports. Non-profits don't have P&L's but instead the report is called the Statement of Financial Operations, or sometimes more simply, Operations Statements. * While we can modify the report heading to manually change the name (taking our time for something that QB should do since they offer the option), we can't change the internal terms of Profit or Loss to read "Excess" or "Deficit.". * Non-profits typically have "Members" instead of Customers. True, they could have "Customers" as well. I suppose one workaround would be to identify these "Customers" as "Member" in the "Customer Type" field, but if we were also trying to use that field to identify a real "type" of business or organization or
Hi,I have a QBO file with a fairly complex matrix of billable expense and income accounts. Is there anywhere where I can view these accounts as a spreadsheet or similar view? Clicking into each account individually is a drag. If there's not... feature request!!! Thanks for your assitanceJoe
We are a company that has been in business for 5 years, and have transitioned to QuickBooks this year. The company has an outstanding loan to an external company (monies loaned several years ago) and has collected payments against this loan this year. How best can we set up this loan in QB so that it has a starting balance, and then, against which, we can apply payments as they come in? This is a simple, no-interest loan with no ties to invoices or services from the company, so we will only record deposits from it. Thanks in advance.
