Hi i returned unwanted materials to a supplier and they’ve refunded me the full amount less a 20% restocking fee. How do I enter this in QBO and do I need to set up any new accounts in Chart of Accounts for the restocking fee? Many thanks Kaz

Hi Our Company is registered as a CIS contractor and sub-contractor. Each month the CIS sub-contractor tax and PAYE is offset against the CIS contractor tax we have suffered. At the end of the year we claimed an overpayment of CIS tax suffered which has been paid direct to our bank account. How and where do I record this refund in QBO? Unsure which account I post it to? Many thanks. Kaz

QuickBooks was very excited to tell me they would do the online new hire reporting and terminations. I received a letter from the state of Texas that our new hires were being reported late. I looked into it. Our new hires are being reported late. However, QB has not done ANY new hire reporting since the end of Sept. It's been almost 3 months since QB has reported our new hires. I have no idea if QB is reporting our terminations. Is there a report in QB I can go to that will show me what new hires and terminations have been reported? I need to find out so I can fix this problem. Federal law mandates that New Hires be reported within 20 days of the date of hire and terminations within 7 days. QB told me they report new hires after their first payroll, but they are actually reporting after the second pay roll. How can QB offer this service but not follow the legal requirements? The incompetency of this com
Can someone PLEASE, once and for all, explain how to cope with the discrepancy between the invoice amount, and the amount received from Zettle once they have taken their fee. e.g. my invoice is for £20. I receive £18.90 or whatever from Zettle. The amounts don't match. How should this be managed? And does it REALLY have to be manual?! Surely there are shops out there using zettle all day every day I can't imagine they are manually reconciling every transaction individually. Please help!
I have new hires that are't fluent in English. They really struggle to accept and complete the workforce invite. Can I send the invite in Spanish?
I am using the self-employed version of QuickBooks and use the simplified expenses to track my mileage, with my regular fuel costs should they be just marked as personal? as they won't be set against my tax as I'm using the simplified expenses method? Thanks.
Ive just signed up to quick books self employed and have spent the afternoon going in circles trying to connect stripe to QB's. I see there are apps but why do I need to pay for additional apps when I'm already paying for a monthly subscription????? There were some limited use free apps available but none of the ones I tried would connect, or if they did connect they didnt work. I tried Greenback, which was horrifically complex so I gave up and Synder which was easy to connect and showed a connection in QB and Synder but no info was showing in y Dashboard. Its very frustrating. I treid to disconnect the connection between the two above metioned apps and my QB account but the disconnect buttons do not work!!! This is such shame as I now need to cancel my subscription as nearly half my sales go through Stripe and I will have to add them manually which is what I wanted to avoid. There are lots of other, and free, accounting softare that allows y
Hello,I have a serious problem with Quickbooks. I have contacted Quickbooks Support and they have been unable to help me.I use QuickbooksDesktop Pro 2019 updated. I cannot export reports to excel. All the fields are greyed out apart from Export to CSV.I have used this facility for some years now without error I upgraded to Quickbooks 2019 and installed the Updates and Export to Excel has always worked up until a few days agoI was told by support to uninstall Quickbooks and Office 365 which I have used for some time now. I have done this and reinstalled Office 365 first. This has not worked I believe their is a fault with quickbooks not syncing with excel but I cannot get this facility to work It is most annoying because all my reports have been exported to excel.Thank youCan anyone help please?Thank youWilliam Henry
When I'm in a dollar account, the option to select and bulk add transactions is not there. I can't even add individual transactions unless I first click on the transaction. Otherwise it says 'enter the exchange rate'. But I don't enter the rate - Quickbooks fetches the rate itself. I have thousands of transactions in US dollars so it's very obviously not practical for me to go into every one, click and then add. I thought I had found a way around this by creating a rule to auto-add these transactions, but to my horror I find that the exchange rate is now pulled in as 1 GBP to 1 USD for these 'rule' added transactions. Please tell me there's a way to bulk import these dollar transactions while keeping the exchange rate calculation, and please tell me how to do it. Thanks!
HiI'm dong my year end accounts but when I run my trial balance and P&L accounts my salary payments are double counted. They are being picked up from the journal entries made when the payroll is run then again when they are paid from the business bank account. Can i delete the journal entries or will this effect my other salary accounts such as pension and NI liabilities? Thanks
diff between bank banlance and QB: 4081.63−3845.38 = 236.25paypal qb balance: 236.36 notice they are very close numbers. Could be a coincidence, but I think this means I have some transactions that are mis-categoriesed maybe as transfer from bank to Paypal? Any tips for debugging this problem?
Effectively I want to split cost the transaction but still make the original invoice look the same as a single line.
Paypal shows the transaction was cancelled, but quickbooks has it still. Do I mark this as excluded in quickbooks
How do I match a journal entry on the bank
i receive a cash back rebate from barclaycard every month. how do i show this in qb?
