Occasionally I receive credit from different vendors, but the expense paid to those vendors may not always be of the same chart of account category. Can I create an account called "Credits" to place these credits? If so, would that be an "income" account, correct?Can credits be applied from this account since they are based upon vendor? Thanks!
I have a question, in my list of transactions for review. I have a deposit and then a withdrawal for the same amount. This was money that came from me sub leasing an office suite where the other business owner took over my lease. She paid me lets say 300 dollars. The check was made out to my business. However, here is my question. When I went to deposit this money. I was depositing it into my personal account that is not connected to QB Online. However because she made the check out to my business, they deposited the money into my business account and then made a withdrawal from my business account for the same amount. I'm new to QB and I'm not sure what to do with these two transactions, one for the deposit and one for the withdrawal, in my list of transactions for review. Please any help would be greatly appreciated.

My company has sold a division of the business. Originally, the plan was to continue collections on outstanding A/R but it has since been decided to transfer the outstanding invoices as well. The transfer is completed. What is the proper way to account for this transfer? The proceeds of collections will remain with the purchaser and the purchase price has not changed.

When we purchase items to sell to our customers, we purchase as needed. We do not keep any stock on hand. So when we make a purchase I categorize it just as an expense. Should this be COGS or just expense?
For example, I enter in 5 ton of rock at $10/ton... total should be $50 and appears that way until I go back to the estimate and then the total appears at only $10 (which is the price per ton) and doesn't multiply by 5 (5 ton x $10/ton = $50 but it will only show $10)

There are 4 ways to enter money received from a customer. 1) Sales Receipt 2) Invoice 3) Deposit 4) JournalMy question is to actually verify that, even though there are customer list dropdowns on Deposit and Journal, entries to those two modes don't become transactions in the customer's transaction history. Is this a settings issue? I 'chatted' with support, it watched my computer as I tried to decipher what to click, ended up on email, and ultimately after hours, ended up with the answer: Yes, we will be experiencing some glitches sometimes since we are also having some updates on our end from time to time. That would be also the main reason why sometimes it will not work since it will affect the update as well. But rest assured, just make sure to reach us if you encounter some issues and better to use google chrome as your browser since it is the most compatible browser for QuickBooks as well.

Every month I get an email telling me I have to log in every 180 days. Not every 180 days. Every month. Every month I log in and hope I won't have to for another 179 days. Every month I'm annoyed to receive another "you have to log in" email. I've used QB Desktop for 20 years and I hate this feature. Please stop wasting my time!
