Employees and payroll

We are hiring our first commissioned sales person. I don't want to have to calculate their commissions in an excel spread sheet then convert it to QB as a payroll item. Can QB do the calculations based on sale or customer?
looking for the employee's w-2 on the website
Quickbooks online doesn't support payroll for Puerto Rico. PR has professionals who work with a lot of clients and would like to set up an online account for them, but this issue limits us. My question is... are you going to provide this feature soon? Cause right know I am thinking about using a different software.
Have been working with QB programs since 1990's and nothing has been more frustrating then these last two years. Went into 1099 today to begin printing and verifying setup and ALL Accounts are unmapped for 1099. This is ridiculous that one of the updates would clear this function.... it should not have to be setup each and every year!
We want to use QB time but if we round in Time it will increase payroll time and we want to pay based on actual work time but invoice based on the rounding rule. Editing hundreds of invoices manually each month would not be efficient.

Why did my payroll not post?
I've tried many times but the page still showed " we weren't able to show your payroll info", could you please help on this? I really need my pay stub for immediate and important use. THX!
So, I basically took all my contractors and made a check in the QuickBooks system but never actually printed or sent the checks. I just wanted the checks to show what I paid each guy for the 1099 report at the end of the year. I always pay my contractors thru my free DD my bank offers. So, two questions regarding this, first how do I track what I pay them in QuickBooks that still gives me my yearly report, and secondly how do I delete this stinking negative $451,500 dollars is shows I am in QuickBooks. We are trying to do things correct now, I need guidance badly. Thanks
I just purchased 2022 Desktop Pro Plus and enhanced payroll. I am needing to add in payroll history. It says to go to employees, then setup, but there is no history button. There are only two visible buttons, Employees and Finishing Up.
I keep track of tips for employees with a spreadsheet and pay them out each paycheck.
I set up an employee for direct deposit. I missed 1 number for the employees bank account. I have already sent payment through to the employees bank through direct deposit. The employee has not received the DD. I did change the account number in the employees direct deposit info. QB updated it. How do I fix this so the employee gets paid?
I am trying to figure out what to enter in the "hours accrued for hours paid" line based on employee getting the equivalent per hour accumulation of time as if he were getting 80 hrs vacation for 2080 hours worked per year but allowing for more time accrual if he works more than 2080 hours and less time accrual if he works less than 2080 hrs.
We use Quickbooks Desktop Payroll. We have a Simple IRA, and we have a payroll item for the employee deduction. The contribution limit is set in that payroll item, and we update it annually. We have a couple of employees in the 50+ age bracket, who want to take advantage of catch-up contributions to contribute more than the annual maximum for those under 50. To accommodate this, I assume we need to have an additional payroll item for the catch-up contributions. Is that correct? Do we set the maximum in that new payroll item to the combined total for regular + catch-up contributions and use that new payroll item all year for the folks in the 50+ group? Or is there a better way to handle this?
Can someone please help me? I've spent 11 hours the past 3 days speaking with Customer Support, and no one can figure this out. When I input .45% for employee and 0% for employer (less than 10 employees), it will NOT save this info. When I exit and then go back into an employee's other tax info, the rates are set back to 0% for both. I guess it wants both the employer and employee to contribute, but the FAMLI program does not require that. HELP!!!
employee currently makes $30/hr and Jan 1st increases to $31/hour. The pay period is 12/27-01/09.
I am trying to change my PA SUI rate for 2023. Employee contribution goes from .06% to .07%. When I go into Payroll List, then click on the employee SUI, go through the set up, get to where to change the percentage and I get .00% or .06% options, no other option. I need to change it to .07%.I have current payroll update (22301).
We have a new workers comp carrier this year. I set up this carrier with a new "Company Contribution account"I deactivated the old one but QBKS only uses the old one regardless. We know this because on the payroll check generated through QBKS payroll module. It shows the old one in the company contribution box "WCI" and in the accounts it shows the ins and outs going to the old one not the new one. Would like to know how to re direct Qbks payroll module to use the new account
I will be processing payroll on Monday, January 2. I just need to know if I need to let employees know what day their dd will go into the bank.
