QuickBooks Q&A

I just want to close a purchase order. I have spent a half an hour and still can't find anything. I have the PO open and there doesn't seem to be anyway to close the entire PO. It looks like I have to go through every line and click closed. In QBMac, there was a little stamp at the bottom of the window that I could click and the entire PO would be closed. I do not see that stamp, nor any other option to close a PO.Why, why, why is everything so difficult on QBO????
I put in QB to pay contractors it sends me and the contractor a email that its accepted, I send out 4-5 per week and some weeks 1-2 of them do not receive the money into there bank accounts but in QB it says it was sent.

In Quickbooks Online Payroll, is there a way to set up a pre-tax deduction type, other than the preset options? And can we set that deduction to vary each pay period? I have an employee who is paid on commission, and her assistant's pay is deducted from that commission, pre-tax. And the deduction depends on the amount of the assistant's pay, which varies from one pay period to the next.
So... IN my continuing adventures in the QBO program....Why can I not sort or find or generate an AR report by class?IN the Desktop version - I can run the AR report - filter by CLASS ---> define classand then I get a report showing the AR of any and all in that CLASS only. When I try to run a filter on the AR (both summary and detail) there is not a CLASS option in the filters...Really??????Please tell me I am just not looking in the right place...Please don't tell me that QBO can't run this report because ( as in other questions the facile answer has b
Does anyone know why QB Desktop has doubled in fee in the last two years?
No details to add
I didn't file or submit a W2 for my 2023 taxes (for myself). I am my only employee and I run payroll for myself. How can I do that and is it too late?
New QBO user, posted a number of questions over the last few days and have received lots of helpful suggestions. Thank you. 25-year QBMac user. WHAT, WHAT, WHAT, WHAT has Intuit done with check printing???? It now takes me twice as long to print a check as it used to (yes, I timed it - 15 seconds on QBMac Desktop, about 30 seconds with QBO, often longer. And I need to go through what seems like 6 different windows to do so. Then I need to close all those windows. AND I can no longer print individual checks so when I get to the third check in a page I have to export the QBO generated PDF to Preview, crop it, then print it, then close the pdf, and close all the windows back in QBO. This has to be the most poorly designed piece of software I have ever seen in my life. Did a disgruntled Intuit employee decide to quit, got drunk and decided to prank Intuit by designing the worst piece of software possible? Then no one at Intuit fixed it.This shouldn't be that hard. For a user that
I have both a SEP IRA and Roth IRA accounts connected to QBO. I've matched my contributions from my bank to the accounts - but - there is a long transaction list where the account moves money in/out of funds, earns interest, and pays a dividend to the account. I have NO idea how to categorize these. This isn't money that exists in my operating account, it's not "real" in a way - do I need to create a new account to assign all these deposits/expenses to so it evens out to what is in both accounts? Or do I just exclude everything except my contributions? Appreciate any help - thanks!
We have different overtime pay for our union employees; however, the new QB formats won't allow us to customize additional pay types like it us before. What happen, why do these changes? I like how we can customize that pertains to our union employees.
Help I need to create a profit and loss statement but there is no option for that in the report section of Quickbooks online. The only P & L is by Tag Group?
I di d undo one transaction by a mistake how can I reverse it.
I followed the steps in Setup, use and pay credit card accounts. (Almost). The credit card bill was paid with a bank "Bill Pay" operation, not a physical check. The process Write Checks won't let me enter BILLPAY in the check number field, so I've temporarily put a check mark in the Print Later field. How do I get BILLPAY into the check number field? We won't know the bank's bill pay check # until the bank statement is received, and obviously can't wait for that to enter the transaction in QB. When we use Pay Bills in the Vendor tab, we are able to insert alpha characters in the check # field and avoid printing a check. I'm thinking that since I have entered the check, I could probably go into the check register and change the "To Print" to BILLPAY, and then simply delete the check from the print queue ... assuming I could find the print queue, which I so far haven't found. How do I open the print queue? Which reminds me
Even If I copy an older Estimate that had tax, the tax will calculate in athat case but wont show between the subtotal and total fields, and I also cant adjust it to make it tax exempt either. The tax field or option is simply not there for Estimates. For invoice is does show normally, just not in Estimates.
We have a third-party processor and use QB desktop for the bookkeeping part. We do not use QB Online. So what data are you taking and where is it going and please stop. I'm asking nicely. Collecting and/or using our payroll data for ANYTHING is not OK. Not a single thing about our employees is any of your business. Using your product does not change that. Thanks, -Mark
I currently have Quickbooks Desktop Pro 2024. What happens in 2027 when the service is discontinued? Will I have the option to use Desktop Pro Plus or Desktop Premium. I don’t want to move to QB online.
HelloI use QBO for the fist time this year. I am in the Graphic Design Service industry. My Chart of Accounts are pre-populated based on my line of business and that I can't add new Income or Expenses. I can only edit the names of existing accounts and even then the 'Detail Type' remains the same. It is frustrating that i have to work with existing accounts and somewhat confusing names. I want to tailor it to my own terms and understand it better, but QBO doesn't seem to allow this. Anyone know how I can add, change, delete existing Chart of Accounts? I am willing to empty it out and start from the ground and add all of my income/expenses if needed be. Thank you!
Typically Landed Cost adds to a bill with no issues for me, but I noticed that it will not add to the bill if one specific inventory assembly items (that I purchase from a vendor) is on that bill. I can unselect the item when applying the landed cost, and it will add just fine, but if that item is selected it will act like it is going to save the landed cost, but then not post to the bill once it is saved. I don't know if I set the item up incorrectly, I have attached a screen shot of how the item is set up. Please advise if anyone has any ideas as to what the glitch between this specific item and our Landed Cost is. Thank you!
