It's that time! Get ready for 2023 W-2s.We're queuing up your W-2s and getting them ready for 2023 year-end filing. Check back here no later than Jan 31, 2024 to catch a preview. Above is the message on my Payroll Filings screen for one of my companies. When I click on the W-2s they are marked as draft copies. Why is this? What is taking so long and when will they be ready?? I'm happy to go through the process manually to prepare the W-2s. but that doesn't seem to be an option.
My payment amount is wrong.
I am getting an error when trying to e-file 1099s. this is the message that comes up. "There was an issue with e-filing your 1099s. Try re-filing. If your account was charged, you won’t be charged again when you re-file. We apologize for the inconvenience." I have been charged the 3 times I have tried.
We have two businesses and one household. I want all of them on quikbooks
our previous accountant incorrectly bulk reconciled over a year of transactions. i need to undo this and start over reconciling from day one.
I am trying to get a validation code as I had to load my Pro 2013 on a new laptop. Have tried phoning all numbers found on the web with no luck.
If I select "meet threshold", no one shows up. If I select "below threshold", I see the ones I'm looking for, ie, the ones above $600. So it looks like the threshold is set wrong somewhere.
I tried entering a customer's payment with the card number they gave me (and yes, it is a good number). I got error code SLN74629 and HOW21175. It said there was a connection error. However, the next customer whose cc I entered went through. I tried the previous customer again and got the same error code. It's not the internet/connection as other payments are processed with no issue. Any help is appreciated.
it has been a week since i efiled both 940 abd 941 via QB Desktop (enhanced payroll) and the status still says processing. it usually is faster. i dont want to be in trouble with the enept IRS. what do i do about it not processing
Is anyone else having trouble with virtually every aspect of QuickBooks online. I am constantly having trouble logging in. Getting a "Having trouble connecting" for hours. Making my life an absolute nightmare! And it keeps deleting my other users. My office help cant get logged in. Now I cant even get them reinvited because it keeps giving me error message that they already have an account, but yet it toke away most of there access making the job impossible for them to do!!!! This is getting ridiculous
I work for a large company with a team of four accountants. Every month, we record JE accruals, some of which do not reverse for a couple of months. Recently, we have been unable to reverse JEs without entering a password, even if the reversal relates to an open period. I have contacted QBO support through chat and email, but I have not found a solution yet. I have admin privileges on the account, so I can enter the password and reverse the JEs. However, this process will not be feasible due to the number of JE reversals we perform monthly. I have been using QBO with this company for over four years, and our process hasn't changed. It seems like a glitch with QBO. Has anyone else run into this situation or have any suggestions?
Hi, I just started using QBO payroll taxes for our first employee. The employee is resides in Philadelphia, PA but works in NJ and elects for NJ-165. So we withhold federal, PA state, NJ unemployment/UI/FL/etc., and Philadelphia city wage tax. QBO is able to automate all of those except Philadelphia. QBO constantly reminds me that I need to pay Philly taxes myself, which is fine, but I just checked with the city who states we just need to remit quarterly. But in QBO it shows amount due per paycheck individually. I have two questions:1. Is there any way to automate Philadelphia city wage tax filing?2. If not, is there a way to configure QBO to lump Philadelphia city wages due quarterly instead of per paycheck? (like QBO does for state sales tax). Thanks
Hi All, I am getting tired of having to update both Edge and/or Web View due to Payment Card Industry requirements. My customer does not use either of them. So I am about to just remove them. (No they are definitely NOT required to run Windows. I remove them all the time) Does the current Quickbooks Desktop require either Edge and/or Web View? Many thanks,-T
I am having trouble converting a QBB file to QBW. It opens the QBB file and then when it asks me where I want to restore the file the dialog at the bottom does not include the name of the file. It only shows up as *.QBW. When I add the name I want for the file, nothing happens.
We're a VERY small outfit, and I'm not expert with either acctg or QB. Some of our income arrives by check, for which the "Undeposited Funds" feature is usually helpful and sometimes essential. Other income arrives via PayPal, which I've set up as another bank acct. At present, I have "Undeposited Funds" turned on. This works, but it makes for slow going when income arrives via PayPal. Every bit of income via PayPal requires going to Record Deposits Can I safely switch back & forth? Do I need to log in as "Admin" to do this switching? -- Carl
So I just setup ADP 401k Simple Retirement plans for my 2 employees. I've setup the deductions on their paychecks already and their 1st paycheck had the deductions and company contributions come out just fine. I go to look on the Profit&Loss and the company contributions show up under for payroll expenses as "Company Contributions Retirement" I go to the Balance Sheet and both the contributions and deductions are there under Payroll Liabilities. I just made a payment to ADP to pay those contributions and deductions and it shows up in my checking account so I assigned those 2 payments of $100 to "Expenses" for Payroll and it again shows up in the P&L. Should I move those 2 ADP payments over to Payroll Liabilities or do they stay right there in Expenses on the P&L? Here are pictures for references:1st pic is the Profit&Loss showing the company contributions as well as those 2 ADP payments of $1002nd pic is the Balance Sheet sho
just need to make a new one and delete old one
I had to correct a whole bunch of mis-directed paychecks going into the wrong account by transferring the funds appropriately. QuickBooks online posted them to the correct account but they got taken out and deposited into the wrong accounts (there are no outside employees involved in the error as this is a small family business). Now I am trying to figure out how to appropriately categorize them without it appearing as an expense or income....how can I categorize this as a correction without it getting marked as a expense or income?

I converted from QB desktop to QB online at the beginning of 2023. I have had no trouble, until I tried to file my 940 in Jan 2024 for 2023. It keeps telling me that I need to reconcile my tax history prior to 01/01/2023. I have filed and paid outside of Quickbooks before the due date, but I hate the past due action needed notice showing up. I have spoken with QB help desk for several hours with no solution. Anyone know how to fix this?
I have a check dated 12/11/23. Since 2023 is closed out. How do delete this check now since we're in 2024?Thank you.
I run a Bi-weekly payroll for our company with 35 employees that work at two different restaurant locations. I want to keep P/R expenses for each restaurant separate by class without having to run two payrolls and cannot for the life of me figure out how to do this.
I do not sell goods and do not collect sales tax.
I am unable to align the 1099-NEC form on QB desktop 2022. The alignment tab does not align the information to the form. QB 2021 works fine, but not 2022. I suspect there is a software issue, but it needs to be updated and corrected ASAP.
I bill my customers on a quarterly basis through memorized transactions. The transactions apply the same amount to everyone in the same group. We are having a rate increase and I would like to know if there is a way to enter the new rate without having to enter each bill individually to each customer. There are over 200 customers. Thank you,Doreen
