I have read through the community chats regarding the inability to utilize paper checks with our Quickbooks Checking accounts. Has this issue been resolved yet? I saw in fall of 2024 one of the responses was that is was being looked into something of that nature.
I currently have an RDS server deployed running Windows Server 2022 with QuickBooks Enterprise 2024 installed. I have about 10 users who RDP into the server daily to use QuickBooks. We have about 10 different company files stored on a local drive on the server. Everything has been working great up until recently, when users began notifying me of a message that pops up when opening the QuickBooks program prompting for Windows Administrator credentials. If they hit cancel, it does not allow them to open any company files. I need to either remote in and provide the admin credentials, or restart the server. Both of those options seems to 'fix' it temporarily for about a week before the message comes back. It gets tedious having to do that frequently and halts our accounting department until I fix it, and I am not always near a computer to fix it remotely if I'm not on site. Can someone please walk me through how to create year end donation statements by customer? I've read several blogs/feedback and it appears that if you are using Quickbooks desktop non profit there is no standard feature. The reason our church selected this product because they stated they had this feature. If this feature is not available, we will have to use another product.
How to record a transaction where a tenant uses their security deposit as the last month's rent? The tenant needs a paid receipt for the final month's rent.
Anyone have a quick fix from keeping employees SSN from showing through the return address window? I am using the preprinted forms with envelopes ordered from intuit. SSN box is at the top of the form and shows through the return address window. I tried raising it to tape/staple it in place - but there is so much extra white space at the top of the form each one will have to be trimmed. I also tried putting a post a note over the SSN - but it was still visible, at least through the standard yellow post-it.
Hello,What is the process in QBO when a customer pays you by credit card with the processing fee that credit card companies charge? With how do you make the invoice to the customer with the fee and payments and anything else that goes with it? What is the step by step to make sure I am doing it correctly in QBO. TIA
I have a paypal account and a paypal credit card in which I accrue rewards. I cash those rewards in and they go as a deposit into my paypal account. I'm not sure how to log this. Any help? Regards,Joe
My company recognizes revenue when it is cleared, deposited at the bank. At the end of the year we have one payment received, showing up correctly as undeposited funds as it was not deposited until this year. The issue is our sales are overstated for the prior year and understated for the current year, according to our revenue recognition. Before closing the prior year should we make an adjustment entry to debit sales and credit deferred revenue on the last day of the previous year and another on the 1st day of the current year debiting deferred revenue and crediting sales? Hi, Our Amex has given us credits in seemingly random amounts when we use the card to pay for shipping. So I entered them in QB as credit card credits to match the transactions that came in the feed. I thought all was well until I went to reconcile. There they are showing the amts twice - once as charges & once payments. Why aren't they just listed as payments? I deleted the charge transactions thinking they were extraneous - because they aren't checked & my balance reconciles to zero. But after deleting them then everything went haywire. If I just leave them there unchecked I will be see them every month in the future when I go to reconcile. Advice? Thanks!
Has anyone else been experiencing the discrepancy between time activity in Quickbooks and the respective job costs (labor) in respective projects? It's been happening since May to where those labor costs are artificially low because the time activity isn't pulling over. Any help?! Anytime I call Quickbooks, no one has the slightest idea how to help or even get me to the right staffing to address this. Thanks!

How do I adjust Payroll Tax Liabilities so that they match what the State is showing due? At some point there has been an over payment of my clients account and now I'm simply trying to make their current payments match what should be paid actually paid. I have corrected the tax rate in the QuickBooks on line file but we are still showing as off and I need to adjust everything to match.
Trying to better understand QBO automatic matching. Bank feeds matches to receipts? What about expenses and bills? What is the process that people undergo. Do you upload all your receipts in expenses and bills and then match the bank feed and delete anything that is unmatched or do you download the bank transactions and upload the receipts after and match the receipts to the bank feeds?
I'm getting a mismatch with importing my employees hours. From the attached image you can see that the hours in the excel file is 5.31 but 5.32 was imported. I have checked the Excel file to confirm that the value is exactly 5.31 to rule out a rounding error. This is happening with approx 10% of the hours I import. Any insight would be greatly appreciated!
Ive put in several feedback requests for this over many years but nothing has been done. Does anyone know of a way to display more than 10 receipts on the receipts tab at a time. I have a bunch of receipts to go through. Curious if there is a url option I can add to the url that would allow this or something
QBO changed the 1099 processing and it has really caused a mess for their clients that have to send in the Employers "State Copy 1" to their state. I was told that it is not possible to get anymore and to just go buy the forms and print each one. The headache this will cause my clients is unacceptable. For my clients that can upload a pdf of the State Copy 1 to their state, will now have to print off each one and then scan to combine them so it can be uploaded as one file to their state. My clients already paid for the online processing of the 1099's. It is shocking that this is where we are after all the price hikes. This is unbelievable! How can we get the State Copy 1 for the states that require them?

I'm using QBO Advanced and the company has a DBA. When invoicing, I'd like some of my customers to see the legal name and for other customers I'd like them to see the DBA name. Is this possible?
My question is about how to properly account for contributions to a Solo 401K. I have searched other similar questions and the answers do not seem to apply to my situation. I have a sole proprietorship LLC (disregarded entity). I use QuickBooks Online (not QB Self Employed). I do not use payroll. I record personal withdrawals as owner equity. I have a Solo 401K that I just funded with a single lump sum check from the business bank account - including Employee and Employer contributions. My question is how I properly record the contribution to the Solo 401K. Is it entirely a transfer to owner equity or is the employer contribution recorded as a business expense?

I run QB Desktop Enterprise 2023. In the last 2 or 3 weeks I have run into a problem with multi-user mode. My workstation and the server runs on Windows 11. My AP's workstation is Windows 10. Whenever AP gets on QB it automatically puts her in single user mode. If she tries to change to multi-user mode she gets error H202. I have no problem switching from single user mode to multi-user mode on my workstation or the server. Understanding the timing for your W-2s
Hello - we use QB online and have an AMEX Business card. Need help finding a solution that allows for expense management. In others words I would like the employee to be able to use a system to tag certain AMEX transactions for a job name/invoice then be able to integrate that input into QuickBooks jobs. Any solutions?
When my son in law started his LLC in February he didn't have a checking account. So he just used his personal credit card and the checks he was receiving as payment for services to pay for expenses. This was from February to August 2024. I manually entered the Invoices and Purchases into Quickbooks so that he could pay accurate Sales Tax. In September he opened a business checking account and linked it to Quickbooks. On the Balance Sheet and Income Statement (Profit and Loss) this Income that was used to keep his business going is showing as "Other Current Assets" as tho he still retains it, but he doesn't, its been used for expenses for the business. The months that have the checking account linked are showing up correctly. How do I reconcile this in Quickbooks correctly so I can close his books for 2024? Thank you in advance for you help.
