I have a small tax error I can't seem to figure out. I created an invoice for $8,410.98 + $883.15 (10.5%) sales tax for a total of $9,294.13. In this invoice there is a line item credit of $126.36 for a non-inventory part (income account) that was returned. Our books are cash basis What confuses me is when I pull a Sales Tax Liability report that includes the date of this invoice, this invoice is increasing the the tax collected by a weird amount ($11.85). This is weird amount because 10.5% of $126.36 should be $13.27. 1.Why is this increasing the tax liability on the creation date rather than the payment date (Cash Basis remember)2. Why is it a weird amount? What am I missing?
Does this application have a time limit for each sessions?
Hello - I am setting up a 401k plan with a match of 100% of the first 1% contributed by the employee and 50% of 2-6% contributed by the employee. How do I set this up in payroll?
Can QB please fix the printing checks feature so we don't have to click 4 different times to print a check then click to open the printer window and again click to print? It is so time consuming to navigate printing. And while you're at it, put the print signature feature back in the program. For a company that markets itself as efficiency, there are a lot of inefficient uses of software. Like constantly having to click to close advertisements in the software I pay for so I can use the software and not have huge header bars and windows trying to get me to buy something more. If I wanted that, I'd go find a free ware version for accounting and waste my time there.
Hello,I am new to QB Accountant and have been looking for comprehensive reference/training material for the program. I see lots of individual topics discussed in both articles and videos, but nothing where you can look up a broad range of information that will explain a whole topic, such as sales or expenses. It doesn't have to be a QB product, although that would be definitely preferable. OK, I can tell I'm not explaining it well, so I will just come out and say it. Is there anything similar to "QuickBooks Accountants for Dummies", although I would definitely drop the "Dummies" part? Thanks for your help!
I got an email warning that my subscription payment is coming up, and to make sure I have a current credit card on file for my payment method. So I log into CAMPs to check, and only the 2007 version of QB is shown. Then from the drop down menu under my company name I see there's another company name with slightly different spelling. This one shows versions 2011 and 2015.That's it. No other company names, nor any mention of the 2024 version I'm using now (or the 2021 I used previously)There's a box to search by License Number, but it finds nothing, even though I've triple- and quadruple-checked that I'm entering the correct number.I'm pretty sure my credit card is current, so I'm probably okay for now, but this will soon become a problem if this isn't fixed. For the amount QB costs us, their products should as least work... I remember when we BOUGHT Quickbooks Pro for around $150, and the payroll updates cost $79/year... (he sighed wistfully)So what do I do now? Is there a phone nu
Has anybody been able to upload pictures using QuickBooks mobile to QuickBooks Desktop?I am able to snap a picture with the mobile app and upload it, but it does not appear in our QuickBooks Desktop document center
Hello, apologies if this is a second post but I changed the username from the former bookkeeper and I can’t find the post. The last bookkeeper incorrectly recorded two “payments” to the credit card as credits rather than payments. I have no idea how she reconciled statements and didn’t catch this but she did something. I’m trying to unravel this mess, but not sure the easiest method to fix. The payments due are showing up in my pay bills window. I have confirmed we did make the 2 payments. Can I void these credits and make the payments dating them correctly? thanks!

Is there any way to export a copy of the complete bank register? I can export all of the account settings (chart of accounts, customers, employees) but need a full copy of our 13,700+ page bank register going back to 2002. We're having issues with the account synching to the bank and the last time we tried resetting it we almost lost the entire register (the bank itself only goes back 1 year). Need to have a copy to re-import if necessary. Thanks.
On November 14th two payroll checks processed for two employees, one having a check number and the second one with no check number. The wages and taxes were doubled. How can I reverse the one with no number so W-2s will be right?
We are entering bills in QB desktop enterprise 22. There are related purchase orders to match with the bills, but the matching purchase order is NOT on the list when we click Select Related Transactions. We have run verify and rebuild with no errors. Why are the open purchase orders not appearing on the Select Related Transactions list?
I have spent the past couple of weeks clearing up 20 years' worth of open vendor balances. It's been a complicated and time-consuming ordeal, but I've finally got our aging A/P report to accurately reflect our A/P liabilities! Hooray!! During this time, a lot of what I did was simply apply credits to open balances on the "Pay Bills" screen, but I've also had to fix checks that had incorrect vendor names and similar changes. Unfortunately, now that I'm all done with that, when I go to reconcile my primary checking account, it is giving me the dreaded message: "Your account isn't ready to reconcile yet. Your beginning balance is off by $39,927. We can help you fix it." On the "Reconciliation Discrepancy Report," it's showing me several transactions, but these do not add up to the discrepancy difference. Further, I can't find anything wrong with them. They're saying that I marked them as "reconciled in register," but these were transactions that WERE originally reconciled -
Good afternoon, I have an employee who was left with a depleted balance on PTO. He has a day coming up and he wants to take it without pay rather than having to use any more PTO (we allow negative balances within reason). How do I set this up so he doesn't get paid just for that one day where he is salaried? I use Quickbooks Online Payroll. Thank you in advance for any assistance,
Hi - I am hoping someone has run into this problem, because I cannot figure out what is happening. My client let me know that she is not getting the QB verification codes to her Gmail account. 2 new clients have "invited" her to use Quickbooks Accountant to manage their books. But, when she tries to accept the invite, and QB says, check your email for your verification code we sent you, the email never arrives. So she asked me if I could figure it out, so here we are. After going through the usual "check your spam and junk folders and found nothing, I went deeper.Went in to the domain DNS and made sure the MX Records, SPF, and DMARC were all correct (which I assumed already were, since she is getting other email, plus other types of emails from QB).Went into the Gmail workspace admin and checked for any emails that may have come to the server but never hit the inbox, no luckTried to change the method of verification from email to phone number, but it won't let meMade sure nothing was be
When customers are paying their bill, they are entering a smaller amount. I'd like it if they don't have this option, and when they are ready to pay, they can only pay in full.
We are receiving a message that we need to update QuickBooks 24 Enterprise due to a Critical Update by May 31st. I am trying to figure out if all Updates to like Upgrades, where we have to install the newer version on all workstations and the server in order for all users to function properly.Defining Update vs Upgrade in this context. - Upgrade would be when we upgrade from QuickBooks 23 Enterprise to QuickBooks 24 Enterprise, the first set of numbers on the version are changed.- Update would be when the subversions are pushed out for the QuickBooks 24 Enterprise. IE going from Version 24.0.1.2 to Version 24.1.2.3.
All of our customers are assigned a class and a location. However, some customers will only appear on reports when I customize and choose 'Location → Not Specified'. I've confirmed that there is in fact a class and a location assigned to the invoice. Then when I dig deeper and open the 'Bank Deposit' information and click on the drop-down 'Show payments for this location', I choose 'Unspecified Locations' and customer A, B or C are on there even though again, it has been confirmed there is a class and a location assigned to the invoice that was paid. Please help in providing information on how to resolve this issue or where it's stemming from so that I can better understand the who, what, where, whens and hows.
I have an upcoming payroll that I will have to do on Friday Dec 27 due to the holidays. It is supposed to cover payroll for 12/16/24 to 12/29/24 with check date of 01/01/25. It is supposed to be the first payroll of 2025 bc of the 01/01/25 check date (direct deposit). We have already completed all 26 payrolls for 2024. However on my desktop, it shows a check date of 12/31/24 which is incorrect bc then it affects the 2024 year. Can I manually change the date to 01/01/25 or will I have an issue since it is a federal holiday? Just don't want to mess up any of my employees for 2024 nor do I want their normal pay that hits on a Wednesday not hit bc many rely on it since they live pay check to pay check.
I'm having problems with Quickbooks Workforce. I've invited two different employees using the same email address. When they log into Workforce, they can see the info for themselves. However, the other employee is now stuck such that they cannot log in nor see any of their info. I tried to remove both employees from Workforce to no avail. How do I fix this issue?
The Federal and State 941 forms for 2024 2nd quarter are not showing up in the action needed section. Is anyone else having this issue?
I need to have a template update on our invoices. At the bottom, we want to have the optional credit card fee to calculate. We do not want to add it to the invoice until they pay with credit card. Anyone have a template for this or that can help me make a template? I have been in the customization already and I am unable to add a formula for it to calculate.
I want to upgrade Quickbooks Desktop for Mac 2019 to current Quickbooks Desktop for Mac (2023 or 2024).I'm able to download a new .dmg file, but it does not show as a purchase and then give me a new License and Product code so I can properly do it. Where do I pay for the new upgrade and get what I need to get started w/ the upgraded product?
I don't use online banking, I do manually download transactions and import. But Intuit has programed QuickBooks 2019 to purposely block that feature to extort money out of people. How do I remove the restrictions and allow import (not using online services), no way am I buying an online version of the program.
