Below is what is on the intuit website and I have used before now it will not take it this is how this is to work and it does not why change it back as we will need to find another avenue for 2025 payroll if this is not fixd so [removed] can be entered for an applied SS #What is going on ???If you don't have a Social Security Number (SSN) in QuickBooks Online payroll, you should enter "all zeros" in the SSN field for the employee, as this indicates that the employee has applied for an SSN but hasn't received it yet; however, you should still ensure you have the necessary documentation like a completed I-9 form to verify their eligibility to work in the US. Key points to remember:Enter all zeros:When setting up an employee without an SSN, input a string of zeros in the Social Security Number field. If you don't have a Social Security Number (SSN) in QuickBooks Online payroll, you should enter "all zeros" in the SSN field for the empl
Is anyone else having issues with payroll taxes being deducted and paid in correctly with the Online Full Service Payroll?
What happened to being able to add freight to an estimate or paid invoice? In the past I was able to manually add freight down by the sales tax area. I just tried adding freight to an estimate and am unable to do so. I've also been able to add freight after an invoice had already been generated, can't do so anymore. Adding freight does not need to be added as a product. It is sometimes taxed, sometimes not. How do I accomplish this in the new update?
Hi, for QBD I am trying to see what transactions make up my undeposited funds account as of a certain date. I can see all of the transactions moving through it but I'm trying to get just a list of the payments that were still there on that date that made up the balance. Essentially, I'm looking for a list similar to the one when you go to select the payments to deposit. Thanks!
Sales tax is being added on all sales no mater the exemption status or state that is addressed to
Large customers are requesting that we include their PO number with the invoice number on the subject line of the invoice email. We have the invoice number but not the PO number which is a custom field. Any solution?
Hello,We have a customer where I will be sending them an invoice for 580 hours worth or work that we will be completing over a few months. What is the correct way to create this invoice in QBO? In the past I have just created the invoice in advance of the work. The issue is that this leaves all the time that gets imported to QBO from our time keeping system as unbilled income since the invoice was created prior to the hours being worked. I would like to tie the hours to the invoice as it is actually worked but this will impact the dollar amount of the invoice. Thanks
For instance if a pay a bill net 10, it's a .5% discount
Good Morning -I'm self-employed and using QuickBooks online. For my last payroll of the year, I'd like to add solo 401k employee and employer contribution and I don't see on the categoriesAppreciate any assistance on this.I presume this needs to be done before end of the year?Thank you.
Where is in QBDT?
We still have SO many invoices that have been Viewed by our customers that still simply show a status of Sent on the Sales - Invoices screen. It makes things incredibly inefficient when trying to review the entire list of outstanding Accounts Receivable invoices for our customers, and determine which customers might truly not have viewed their invoices yet. You have to click on EVERY invoice individually to see accurately whether they truly haven't viewed it or not. This has been a known issue/bug with QuickBooks since at least January that has been reported and documented and identified as known to the engineers. I re-report it regularly in case they think it has been resolved. Does anyone know when this is going to truly be resolved, or if it is even still on the docket?
Every time I open the bank transactions page I have to page through 8 years of bank transactions until I reach the date I require, which is usually the current month. All the old transactions are what Quickbooks online downloaded from my desktop app when I switched to Online. Thanks or your help.
I am trying to change the check number in the system as I printed it on the wrong check and don't want to re-print it. How can I change the number?
I ran a bonus check run (32 checks) and only 2 show up on my bank register.
I have a service business and all of my COGS is payroll. My pay period ends every second Saturday at 11:59 PM and pay is the next Thursday, via direct deposit on QB Assisted Payroll. I use QB Desktop Enterprise, set to service. It took me many hours every month to do a study and determine my gross profit.I have two issues:The payroll is charged automatically to the pay date. I need it to be charged to the date the work was performed and QB has that information in the timesheet. So I changed the pay date to Saturday; which QB changed to Friday and now my taxes are due a full week earlier. How do I get reporting to recognize the time that work was performed and report the pay date to the IRS?I have the overhead payroll (office workers and sales) on a separate payroll. Their taxes are charged to COGS, which is a significant variance from accuracy in my Gross Profit. How do I split taxes so my Gross Profit (Revenues less COGS) is accurate?
Hello everyone. I need some help. I am the treasurer for a non-profit. I'm not new to QB's, but I am new to QB's online and the non-profit accounting world. Is there a way to set up a Fundraising Campaign (all I can find are "projects") that will allow us to track the expenses and donations associated with the campaign? In theory, the "projects" tab works, but it doesn't allow for "payments i.e. donations" to come from multiple donors. It is only giving me the option to receive payments from 1 person that I need to create an invoice for. This isn't going to work very well for hundreds of donors. Is there an easier way to accomplish a campaign that will track expenses and income so we know if the campaign is worth it or not? I have doubled checked that I have "non profit" selected, but there's not really an option to create a campaign, so I'm hoping there is something "out of the box" that you guys are doing to track these things easily. Thank you!Stacy
I work at a company of 10 employees we all have an intuit account for quickbooks. However, we sometimes forget to choose which sales rep is assisting a customer on the invoice. Is there a way to require a sales rep name when invoicing? Currently it is not required and it is why we sometimes forget to assign the name every invoice.
When I reconciled my bank account on 9/30/24 the reports shows an ending statement balance of $ "x" and everything matched, etc. When I go to reconcile for the next month, QB Online shows my opening balance of "Y" which is less than the prior months closing balance. What would cause an erroneous opening balance?
How do I zoom in on my quickbooks desktop 2022 so the font isn't so small?
How do I run a profit and loss report by class in Quickbooks Online? I need to run a report for each class as well as a summary report showing each of the classes.
Will QBO export reports to an excel worksheet that has been previously created and saved in a .xlsm (micro enabled) format.

Approximately 8 weeks ago, I migrated from QuickBooks Desktop to QuickBooks Online Payroll. I receive several automated notifications after running payroll from the "QuickBooks Online Payroll" email account, confirming that the payroll ran, and what has been withdrawn for direct deposits, payroll tax payments, etc. Yesterday, I noticed that these emails started to include a new recipient (aside from myself, the company admin) at a Gmail address that is outside of my organization. I did not authorize this and I'm not sure which Intuit support team to contact regarding this issue. This is concerning, because now confidential payroll and tax information is being sent via email notification to an unidentified user/email account outside my organization. Wondering if anyone else using the QuickBooks Payroll Online is experiencing something like this, and/or which Support team I should be contacting to get resolved (e.g., Online Payroll Elite, Priority Circle, etc.).
My work often schedules payments in advance, which on the older versions of QuickBooks Desktop was not an issue. However, if we schedule payments to be made and enter those in QuickBooks, those future transactions show on the reconciliation report. Is there a way to disable or limit this? Example: A credit card payment is scheduled to withdraw from bank account X for January 12 and is entered into QuickBooks December 31st, dated for January 12. Reconciliation takes place January third. The withdrawal appears as an uncleared transaction on the reconciliation report, making it seem like the reconciliation date is incorrect because a transaction dated after the reconciliation supposedly took place.
I am closing down my corporation Dec. 31 2024. My CPA let me know that for payroll (using QB) I would need to let the IRS know that my business has closed on the 941 and make sure I elect that status. Can I do this in QuickBooks Online when I submit my final payroll payment for the year?
