Is anyone else having problems with their NatWest bank feeds? We haven't been able to connect for a few days now.
How do I setup Payroll deduction so that it appears on the payroll payment file for the bank?I have added a deduction category (Pre-Tax) for Payroll Giving.How/where do I setup the payment details for a deduction so that it is included on the payment file together with the wages?
My staff have the workzone app, and can submit leave requests, fill out time sheets etc. I just can't find or import these time sheets in to Quick books, and any guidance would be appreciated.
Hi,I'm a very small business. I have one employee, my husband. At the end of every quarter, I end up screwing up and not recording the last payroll check of the quarter. I don't record everything thing daily, more like monthly (or worse) Every time it's such a hassle because I keep getting an error saying 'you may owe penalties' when I'm trying to do the quarterly payroll tax, and it won't let me enter in the check from the month before. I have to call and wait for an 'expert' to do it for me. Has anyone found a way around this? Other than staying on top of my bookkeeping? 🙂 Thanks!
All our employees work from home, but some must hold in-person meetings with clients/potential clients and staff. We do not hire meeting rooms (none in the area) but chose to meet in an eatery of some description. It's a legitimate part of the business operations, and it is neither appropriate nor professional to hold a meeting in the house with my underwear draped over the clothes horse! Is the expense allowable, and is it tax deductible?
I need to add a new user to my client's Quick Book's account but it is saying there's an error. How can I fix this?
I am getting very confused and more than a little lost here.QB is sold as a double entry book keeping system. Unless I am mistaken it isn't.Where are the actual ledgers where the other side of the transaction are stored??How do you make entries other than apply bank transactions to categories. If I transfer my data to qb will I lose it's double entry integrity and not be able to move it on in future.
I'm having issue yet again reconnecting my HSBC account to QBO. I've tried all the usual suggestions, which never work anyway.I've had three emails from the Intuit servers saying I've now connected to my bank accounts, which I've not because it's failing with an error code of 590? Suggestions of a postcard please.
Can I ask how I track the almost 30 employees that I have who work term-time only on Quickbooks Advanced Payroll? I run payroll for a pre-school where the school staff receive 38 weeks pay stretched over 52 weeks. This is so that they receive a regular monthly salary as opposed to being paid just for hours worked (i.e. nothing in August, for example). I have not yet found a way to track this as the issue I have is that their hourly rate falls below minimum wage as it is stretched over the year whereas in actual fact they are all at or above it. I keep getting warnings about this when I run payroll so short of turning this warning off (easy option) I would like to properly account for this as well as correctly accruing holiday. Thank you in advance.
This is confusing.
I have quickbooks premier edition 2004 ! I know, its old - so am I ! about to retire so dont want new version. but cant load it on to my windows 7 laptop - needed urgently ! quickbooks staff were trying to be helpful - but cant get the original updates needed so the new installation will work with my company file, and then get it activated somehow ?!it seems a shame that I bought this software outright all those years ago, had no problem re installing it in years past, but now they cant allow me to, but under the original 'terms and conditions' - I have the right to re install and use it indefinately?it seems to me they are in breach of my original purchasing rights! - any help or suggestions will be so welcome!thank you,Tomtomato.
Hi, I receive large amounts of transactions from a savings account in my name, my quickbooks self employed account, the reference is different every time and the savings account ZOPA are the ones who choose the transaction reference, I cannot control it. The name of the person is on every single transaction though, this is my own name. But when I click 'create rule' whether 'match exactly' or not the rule is not applying, it keeps not putting a rule to these transactions as 'personal' it just asks me every time what these transactions are. How do I solve this, thanks?
Hi,im new to quickbooks and VAT in general. i have just received my VAT reg number. the company i subcontract too (under CIS) told me itll be paid direct to HMRC the VAT, whilst this is great, how do i amend the bank transactions to reflect this so it shows as the income VAT has been paid direct to HMRC. i have the last 48 weeks to do aswell so need to figure this out (payments being backdated direct to HMRC) so i can sort my return for HMRC (it took a while to get my code/cert) a simple guide would be great for me being a novice on quickbooks

Hi I'm new to QB and have been experiencing a few bugs(?). I'm using QB Self Employed Online in Windows and the app in Android. I'm trying to add my mileage manually/retroactively back to the start of the tax year but QB will only let me date trips back to when I joined QB? So at the minute I have a bunch of trips all dated May 9th and it won't let me change the date further back. I've tried in both Windows (Edge and Chrome) and Android. And yes I am clicking the green save button. I thought perhaps it's because it only has be 'owning the vehicle' from that date but I don't appear to have the 'Edit Vehicle' option mentioned in other help topics. Any help appreciated, thanks. Alex
So, I've been using quickbooks since the beginning of January and I have to admit that I am really, really struggling to get my head around it. I'm finding it difficult to deal with the payments that don't match invoices, paypal payments, I'm having to exclude a lot of bank transactions because the amount deposited doesn't match the invoice and so on. I'm thinking that it might just be easier for me to do it all manually rather than linking through the bank accounts. Does anyone else do this? Does it work? Thanks in advance.
So recently migrated from QB Desktop 2012 to QB Online, the data had to go to Intuit but it seems everything has been dragged across.I have linked into VAT on the Government Gateway & I have followed all the steps to file the VAT, but when i click "submit return" i get the message "You must also click Save again to make this change that is prior to the closing date." which doesn't make any sense as the screen that pops up on doesn't have an option to "save" anything.Any ideas???
Our set up was very basic in payroll. Can anyone advise how they set things up to prevent leave balances going into negative?
Dear community, I would highly appreciate if you advise if Google SSO is implemented to QuickBooks Online?
A supplier was overpaid, they returned the payment right away. The bank is reconciled, the payment was recorded to the correct supplier through a bank deposit transaction. However the supplier profile is showing that we are still owed the money.I deleted the payment and re-imported the transaction to try and fix this, it still is not working correctly. It still says they owe us the money they repaid. How to fix this please? 🙂
I am very confused about Sign -Up MTD for VAT. I do not use agent. But the link given by quickbooks is for sign up for client . I tried to find the site in government's website to explain how to sign up MTD for myself. But just after "searching software", I cannot proceed further . Please tell me the further procedure to sign up MTD.
Hi everyone, We're currently aware of the frustration caused by Co-Op Bank UK connection issue in QuickBooks Online (error 590 & 350). we are working with the bank directly to resolve the issue. I'll be updating this thread with the status of a fix as soon as we get more information. Thank you for your patience.
