I'm trying to reconcile a Line of Credit. When I pay down the LOC, the money is transferred from one bank to the one holding the LOC. When the payment leaves the first bank, it's recorded as a Transfer in Quickbooks. When it's applied to the LOC, the principal and interest are split at the receiving bank (LOC). I can't reconcile my LOC i because the payments I made aren't split between principal and interest - they are just considered a "transfer" in quickbooks. How do I split the transfer to account for the balance difference when I reconcile? Unfortunately, I'm not well versed in using Journal entries.
I need to be able to add an automatic 3% markup to my credit card customers. It was located in customer set up on the desktop version. I don't see it anywhere on the online version.
I issue invoices to clients, who mostly pay by check. When I deposit those, I match to the invoice; all good.A few clients occasionally pay via the direct bank transfer option available via intuit. This (as you would expect) marks the invoice as paid automatically. However, the bank deposit still is captured in 'banking', but when I go to match it to the invoice, it is no longer available (already being paid), so I'm left with an 'External Deposit INTUIT' floating in my banking statement with no way to reconcile/record it.
My team member can no longer search for product/service entry from the search bar in the product service listing page. We need this ability to quickly locate the listing and edit it when our prices change. Is anyone else experiencing this? How do we rectify it?
I think it might be due to fact that I rearranged my chart of accounts for reporting purposes. Fixed Assets won't let me edit the account since there are already posted entries.

BE CAREFUL using Online Payroll Elite! On 03/25/25, our company migrated to QuickBooks Online Elite Payroll. I entered all of our Active Employee YTD paydata to process payroll. However, I did not enter any of the 2025 1st Quarter Terminated employees YTD paydata. On 03/27/25, I told the QuickBooks Online Elite Payroll Expert that all of the 2025 1st Quarter Terminated employees YTD paydata would not be entered until the week of 03/31/25. I have Quickbooks Desktop Pro Plus, I had, up until recently a payroll subscription. I have canceled it, for various reasons. I would still like to manually enter the payroll. When I go to Edit: payroll & employees: company preferences: manual payroll is greyed out. I can't figure out what to do to get it clicked.
I received an invite email/link to join a company account. I accepted the invite and have an account already. When I go to log in to QuickBooks Online, however, I get a page saying “There are no companies for this account.” When I go to accept the invite again, through the email, it says the invite was already accepted and proceeds to the login page. Same error page comes up. I can log into my personal profile, but not the company access.

For the record, let me state that I absolutely despise the new QBO estimate and invoice layout. The designers have wasted a HUGE amount of page space and I work in an industry where I still need to send detailed estimates and invoices. Almost the whole top 50% of the page is wasted color blocking that for my needs is virtually unusable because I don't need to put "shipping" addresses in. These look sloppy and when they are printed they look even worse. Honestly, these new default layouts are a major professional embarrassment. I cannot change the font size. I cannot change the column width. I lost the ability to add a custom footer.I cannot remove the empty and unused date column which is taking up much needed space.The signature and date section has been removed entirely. We have a client who just changed their business name. My boss is concerned that if we update the name of their business, we might lose their existing data. I cannot locate any information on this on the QB site. Appreciate any definitive responses. THANK YOU!
Enhanced Payroll: I'm having a few brain hiccups. We are setting up accrual rates for PTO to accrue each paycheck, and for an accrual max of 120 hrs paid every 2 weeks (26 pay periods), it would be 4.62 hrs per pay period. (120 / 26 = 4.62). However, for some reason ... obviously an error at some point, the system is accruing 4.37 hrs instead of 4.62. I tried to change it on the employees record to 4.62, but the system will not allow me to adjust it. Why? Where is it set to think 4.37 is the rate instead of 4.62? I feel like I should know this, but I am drawing a blank. Any help pointing me to the right direction will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
I had an employee who started halfway through the year in 2023. Based on their W4 QuickBooks withheld $228 of federal taxes per check. Then in 2024 it decreased it to $55 per check. The $55 is correct per the IRS worksheet yet upon doing their tax return they owe a lot of money to the IRS, so they obviously do not believe enough was withheld. But they employee is still upset wanting to understand why QuickBooks withheld so much in 2023 and then it suddenly decreased in 2024. Further my company now has concerns QuickBooks is dependable.
I used to be able to type a word in the product/service box on an invoice and the results would search both the name of the product/service and the description. Now, with the updated layout, only the product/service name is searchable. My p/s names are named by the part number. For example a 10lb ABC fire extinguisher is 120 and the description was 10lb abc fire extinguisher. If i searched abc, it would pop up but now i can only search 120 to find it.
When pressing “convert to invoice” a box would pop up asking if I wanted to invoice the entire job or is I wanted to request “50% of all line items” and I used that to get a 50% down payment before the job. Now the box doesn’t pop up and I don’t see where I can request only 50%. How can I get it back?
Our accountant put in a journal entry for one of our vendors back in 2014 and now whenever we print an unpaid bill reports it shows we owe the vendor $541.48, which we don't. How do we clear this since the books are closed? If we call our accountant, he will probably not remember why he did it.
Today, when I started to do a batch bill manual entry (not upload), I found that I could no longer copy & paste Vendor names into their column. I have a spreadsheet and usually, I copy the column of Vendors from my spreadsheet (there are uually around 30 or so) and Paste them into the "Vendor" column in the Batch Transactions grid. I do the same for Bill Numbers, Amounts, etc. But today, only Vendors would not copy & paste. Has anyone else encountered this? There have been a lot of updates lately and hopefully this gets fixed. it is frustrating.
I am trying to filter projects which are ONLY in progress. When i select the filter and run it, a report appears... however that report is missing two project i know for certain are in progress? Not sure what could be casuing them to not get picked up? ThanksBryce
