Has anyone in Arizona processed their A1-R form yet? Mine has the correct numbers for 2024, but generates a 2023 form. Unfortunately I didn't notice it until after I had submitted it for e-file. Anyone else have this issue? Thanks!
I am using QuickBooks Desktop Pro 2024 with Enhanced Payroll. I am trying to create and file the Annual W2 form and every time I click create form the window pops up to verify number of employees and tax year, as soon as I hit "ok" QuickBooks closes. I have called support, uninstalled and reinstalled QB, I have run the File Doctor, and Tool Hub, and updated my Windows and nothing has been resolved. With the deadline for filing fast approaching I'm looking for any and all help.
I am just setting up my Quickbooks using the online version. I entered my sales under Sales orders instead of under Sales receipts. But I had closed the sales orders, and it won't let me reopen them now. How do I reopen them so that I can cancel the sales orders? Is there a way to delete them once they are closed? Or is there a way to move the data to Sales receipts from the sales orders? Thank you, DebraT
Is it not possible to customize columns on the Create General Journal Entry screen? Or am I missing something?
I would like to export a list of my customers to a csv file. I want the file to include the following as separate fields:Customer display nameFirst NameLast NameCompany NameEmailStreet address 1Street address 2CityStateZIP codeIs this possible with QBO? QBD could do this.I am able to export a subset of this information to excel, but it lacks First and Last Name. This looks like a bug.
I want to be able to edit the check template so that I can change positioning of the address and memo line. How do I do this?
Hi, I'm trying to upload my W2's to the new Maryland Tax Connect portal. When trying to upload a test file, I get the error message "file extension is incorrect". I am uploading the file that was created in quickbooks so I don't know what the issue could be. Please help.
How do I edit a W-2? In desktop, I could right click and "override" it.I need to add an amount to box 14 and edit Box 1.
Is is possible to access the Received From field in QBO that you see in the deposit entry? No it is not available in the Deposit detail. While Customer Name is the same as received from when customer name is used it skips all the SPLIT deposits which is most of what we have. This basic stuff and was fully available in QBDT. Whats the deal QB?
I have a new non profit client that tracks cumulative donations by donor. Can you import a donor (customer) list with amounts they contributed in years past? If so, what is the field type? I definately do not want the amount to show up in A/R. Thank you.
The check's are printing the following fields:First Name, Last Name (if those fields are populated)Company Name or Name to print on checks (they are duplicates)AddressCity State ZipI am also seeing:Company Name Name to print on checks AddressCity State ZipWhat I am desiring:Name to print on checks AddressCity State ZipAny guidance would be appreciated as the contact person we put on the check is not the AR contact but the sales contact..
I'm having an absolutely maddening issue with QB Self-Employed. I have created an invoice in a third-party business management software I use that integrates with Quickbooks and sent it to QB Online. The invoice shows up in QB as "Deposited" even though it has not been paid. When I try to select "Mark As Unpaid" either nothing happens, or it says there's an error. When I go to the Activity and click on the link that is supposed to go to the payment, it says, "We didn't find anything!" So I deleted the invoice in both QB and the third party software. I created the invoice in the third party software again, sent it to QB again and the exact same thing is happening. I tried duplicating the invoice only in QB, and it applies an arbitrary payment that has the same payment number as the other false payment and still does not exist. The only thing that worked is creating the invoice from scratch on QB, but now it is not linked to my management software. This hasn't happened before with any ot
Suspecting fraud, I received a credit card chargeback from a customer after receiving their $1000 payment via QB Payments. The chargeback amount was $1025 (including a $25 fee). The issue was eventually resolved in my favor and I received another $1000 payment via QB Payments. In my customer's transaction list I have the original $1000 payment and in my bank feed I have the $1025 chargeback expense and the second $1000 payment. How do I record the three related transactions in QBO?
Background: last year I transitioned my business' accounting system from a discontinued Microsoft Small Business Accounting 2008 to QuickBooks Desktop Pro 2020. I made initial entries to my balance sheet to match my old system as of FYE2019--including Retained Earnings. Now a year later I want to close my books for FY2020 and I see on my FYE balance sheet my FY2020 Net Income as Equity, which is fine. But, when I run a balance sheet report for FY2021, I see that my FY2020 Net Income has been transferred to a new Members Equity account rather than adding it to Retained Earnings. Why is this happening? And, better still, can this be changed? Everything I've researched thus far says that QB automatically transfers Net Income to Retained Earnings (not Members Equity) in the new FY--and that's what I actually want to happen. Thanks in advance for any insight and assistance.
My bank accounts randomly lost their connection to QB the other day. They are failing to reconnect and showing a blank field after processing the connection (I am getting an email from my bank stating they are sharing data with QB, though).I spoke with QB support over the phone, ran through all troubleshooting methods, including having them remote in to observe the issue. The conclusion: "we'll wait 24hrs". They scheduled a time to call back and never did. The following day (outside of our scheduled call) they called me, and hung up when I answered. With taxes coming up, and all my QBSE data lost, I am reaching to the community for a solution. Has anyone ran into this issue before? Who can I contact to take action and solve this issue, and report a support complaint? This company and their support has failed me miserably, and left me with no solution... Beyond frustrated.
When are you going to let us edit the email that goes with our invoices that are emailed from QuickBooks? The email automatically take our QuickBooks Company file name which is not in the correct format. This makes our invoices look very unprofessional. This has been asked of your before from several others. PLEASE LET US KNOW HOW TO GET ACCESS TO EDIT THIS. Thank you [email address removed]
I am being constantly over charged on all my ACH transfer fees I am so upset right now. I have to go through all my books now and see how much quick books as over charged me and I will be contacting my lawyer.
While preparing the 940 for year end, we got an error of overpayment. The FUTA paid for the first 3 quarters of the year totaled an mount that was $0.01 more than the amount that was calculated as due for the year. We did not have any new employees in Q4 and all the other employees had met the base calculation numbers which generated a $0.00 payment due for Q4. In processing for the final 940, QB is showing an overpayment of $0.01 and dropped a -0.01 on line 16d. of the 940. This causes an error message: "Form 940 Quarter 4 liability should not be negative or have a zero." How do we make this -$0.01 go away so we can complete and submit the form 940?
No need to mention that 1099s are not required for less than $600. I'm aware of that. I have a client that is requesting one although the total amount is less. I'd like to make my clients happy, which is a lost art these days. How can I generate a 1099 for this and other clients that want one? I've struggled trying several avenues only to come up empty. Thanks!
DEAR TEAM, I AM USING QUICKBOOK DESKTOP EDITION FOR OUR COMPANY I NEED TO MENTIONED OUR COLLECTOR OR PAYMENT RECEIVER NAME IN PAYMENT DETAIL BUY I AM UNABLE TO DO. PLS HELP AND SOME ADVICE. BR RAZEE [removed]
I am seeking recommendations for processing 130+/- W2s. My new bookkeeping client used ADP, Decision HR, and an online payroll calculator at different times during 2024. Since I cannot add last year’s payroll data to their new QuickBooks Online account, I need to merge different data sources for each employee and use a W2 processor. I saw SSA has a free service but for only 50 W2s. Plus, I have seen ads for TurboTax (which would be my preference if easy and inexpensive), Tax Bandit, and more. Any thoughts in terms of ease and cost? Also, they have minimal access and reporting available from previous payroll services. Would I need the Payroll Summary and/or Payroll Register to complete data collection and process the large W2 batch? Any other guidance would be very appreciated!

I tried to connect to my bank Mercury and used Connect To Paypal app, but no matter how I tried I always got like wrong credential. I'm not really what the hell happening in the Quickbook backend when the next tab on my browser just using exactly the same credential I entered, feel kinda wasted money when I have to upload things manually.
