QuickBooks Q&A

I have used Quickbooks Online Payroll for 10 years to file payroll taxes. This year, a 940 was not generated. I was able to pay the tax associated with it, but the form is no there to be filed. Additionally, my W-2 does not show up either. Please advise. I have emptied cookies/cache. The emails that I receive from quickbooks with reminders of forms to be filed do not mention my 940 or W2. This is unsettling. Please advise.
Quickbooks is not showing forms for the 2024 4th quarter 941 or Yearly 940 anywhere that I have looked. Are they not available yet? Please advise, I would like to get them filed asap.
I can no longer process payroll because my payroll usage data won't send to QB, and my payroll usage data won't send because I have not updated my Payroll Account Info. When I try to update my Payroll Account data, it says the window of time to update this is past and I get error message 40003. I just spent 2 hours with a QB phone rep trying to resolve this only for her to tell me to delete 5 weeks worth of payroll checks from QB, which I refused to do. She said the problem could not be fixed without deleting all unsent paychecks (5 weeks worth) and recreating them from scratch. I am asking for any expert to help me solve this issue before I end my 20 year relationship with QB Desktop once and for all!
We have been trying to run a audit trail for dates 01/10/2025 through 01/13/2025. When the report does load and not crash, it will not show certain sales orders on the list. The attached sales order audit trail does show sales order 9708 as having adjustments between the above dates, but does not appear on the 01/10/2025-01/13/2025 audit trail report. Please advise on a proper procedure to assure that all my sales orders that were changed the on a specific date range requested.
Hello, we are using QBO Advanced and a third party app Transaction Pro for uploading multiple bills in the system. Now we turned on the AP approval workflow but it only works with the manual invoices and not with the upload. Transaction pro tells me AP workflow is not supported for their uploads, which pretty much makes it useless since most invoices make it into the system through uploads.
I use Quickbooks to organize my inventory. I recently changed up the BIN locations and moved everything around. I don't want to delete all of my old BIN locations because they are now in use by new products that were moved. The issue is each product now is full of previous BIN locations from previous inventory transfers. I want to hide or delete all previous bin locations that are not currently a sales or purchase default.
Since my total 940 payments including the state credit reduction tax, is over $500 I need to pay it first. However, that extra tax is not showing up to make a payment. It is only appearing on my form. I want to pay it online and then record it on my check registry and have it show as paid on my 940 form before I electronically file the form. Any help on how to handle this please?

Hello,When I invite new employees and they complete their part of the i-9 form, I get an invitation to fill the employer side of that form. The problem is that the form shows and old business address I previously used by default and I have to change it manually every time there is a new hire. I called support but they said my addresses are all updated in all places and couldn't figure out why it's happening. Any advise on that?
Hello, does anyone has the same issue of inactive agencies showing up on the sales tax report? It's been happening for more than a year. The only way to fix it is to go in to each affected invoice and click "see the math" and then click to edit the shipping address and save it without changing anything. It makes QBO re calculate the sales tax and that solve the issue. it's definitely a big affecting some of the invoices. I have to do it every single month for most invoices to get an accurate sales tax report. I called customer level and they reached level 3 engineering but they couldn't help as well. See attached photo.
I would like to add a brand new status to the drop down menu for an estimate. Currently there are pending, accepted, closed and rejected. I want to add another Christine at 12:09 PM said Currently there are pending, accepted, closed and rejected. I want to add another
In the attached report is a list of payroll expenses associated with one of my customer accounts. You will see that my hourly employee costs are recorded throughout the year. You will see ( bottom of page 3) that my salary employee costs stop recording after August 2nd, 2024. Something broke with QBO and Payroll after August 2nd, such that salaried employees payroll is no longer broken out by client account according to the proportion of hours they booked to each client account. Before that date, it worked perfectly, even accounting for payroll taxes! Please Intuit and Quickbooks Online and Payroll teams... COST ACCOUNTING IS THE MOST CRITICAL FUNCTION FOR ANY BUSINESS. THIS IS A BASIC FUNCTION THAT IS TO BE EXPECTED FROM ANY ACCOUNTING SYSTEM. FIX YOUR SOFTWARE! AND WHILE YOU'RE AT IT, PROVIDE ME A CREDIT FOR A FREE YEAR SINCE YOUR BASIC FUNCTION STOPPED WORKING AND HAS NOT BEEN WORKING NOW FOR 5 MONTHS!!!![PDF file containing PII's was remove
I've created Service Items for 2 new hires. both are showing as "assigned to all" in QB Time. How do I change this setting?
Has anyone set-up Payroll with 401K ROTH w/employer matching. I was told to pick a Traditional 401K but I'm concerned that the taxes will not be done correctly.
I'm looking to compile a report of both open sales orders and open purchase orders. I typically just do two separate reports, but I was wondering if there is a way to make a report that pulls from both (and maybe even link a PO to an SO, if there is a link.) Does anyone know of any way to possibly do this without formatting in Excel for hours?
Hello and welcome to another Top 5! This time around, we will be focusing on Year End 1099 questions again and covering some of the most asked questions; such as how to submit a 1099 for a contractor you missed the first time, amending 1099’s, how to email your 1099’s to your contractors and more. So make sure to grab your favorite drink and keep reading if you’re interested in hearing more. Let’s dive into it! 1. How do I amend a 1099? QuickBooks Online only lets you file your 1099 once. For updates or corrections, you can do it in a printed copy and manually mail it to the IRS. You can file the amended formr by following the steps below: Order 1099-NEC IRS forms online at IRS Online Ordering for Information Returns and Employer Returns. Fill out the 1099-NEC form and make sure to enter the correct Social Security Number. Tick the Corrected box. Once done, mail the form to the IRS. I'm adding these articles for additional guide: How to correct or change 1099s
Upon my initial attempt at e-filing of the 941 report through QuickBooks Desktop, I received an email from QB Payroll Service confirming successful processing by the IRS agency. However, it lacked the customary acknowledgment number typically provided by the IRS for W-2 e-filings via QuickBooks. Additionally, unlike my experience with W-2 filings, where the QuickBooks audit trail promptly reflects an "Agency accepted" status post-filing, the audit trail for the 941 form continues to display a "Submitted to Intuit" status even after one week, despite the reception of the acceptance email from QB. What is the way to know for sure whether my form 941 has indeed been successfully e-filed and processed by the IRS?
I have purchased a license for QuickBooks 2006. But now it kept asking for verification code. The mobile number and email address used for registration are now closed. Please guide me how can I receive the verification code.
I updated to the new Chase (All) listing for my bank feeds last week as required and I have been extremely frustrated ever since. I now have to download the activity for my main bank account and 15 different credit cards all separately instead of being able to do them all at once like before. Now, after a few days, the download for only my operating account isn't pulling any transaction detail. It connects properly and there are no errors, but no transactions come up for review. I typically have a minimum of 80 transactions daily to review and in the last 2 days I've gotten none. But downloading the transactions from my credit cards has worked perfectly, so the connection is working properly, it's just not pulling data from my bank. Help! I hate this new feature! The last one worked so well and I'm frustrated this new update was pushed onto customers and it doesn't work properly.
When I started my company I thought it was a good idea to create sub-items for an inventory item. Example: Yarn 1 has 150 different colors so I created 150 sub-items for inventory management. Now I have found a better software for inventory management and my bookkeeping is now so time consuming. If I already have quantities in the sub-items I can't just delete or make an item inactive until the quantity is 0. How can I "clean" my inventory items so I can only keep the parent item? any help is greatly appreciated.
We need to renew the connection between QBO and Wise as we received this banner on the bank transactions page. However, when we go to the manage connection page and try to click on the "Manage Consent" link, nothing happens. Already tried basic TS like using an incognito browser, using Safari instead of Chrome, and the same issue. Please assist. #wise #bank #transactions #manage #connection #manageconnection #consent #manageconsent
QuickBooks Desktop 2022 Discontinue ?This year.
I have QBO payroll that we enter the 401k employee contributions and the employer contributions in to. My payment comes from my checking through bill pay for a lump sum. What is the proper method and acct type to record this properly? Currently, it is all listed under Payroll liability/401k, but shouldn't this be just the employee contribution? I believe there should be a split transaction where I have a payroll expense for the employer contribution and liability for the employer contribution. Please advise what the best method is for completing these weekly transactions. Additionally, I have one employee who took out a loan against their 401k. Do I need to record their principal and interest payments against their 401k loan and separate them from everyone else?
We always pay our credit card off each month and I know this is not the right way to do this but I enter the credit card as a bill when I get the statement and expense all the charges accordingly. Then pay the bill from the pay bill feature. One month we had a large charge on our business card that caused us to go over our credit limit. This large charge was actually for 2 pieces of equipment one for the this company and one for another company we own. When the card went over the limit I transferred the payment amount online from the other company to pay down the credit card for this piece of equipment. How do I account for this in Quickbooks when the payment was from a checking account not listed in this company but our other one?
