QB Desktop user. My company booked an event earlier this year. We were given an invoice for the event and I entered the full amount of the bill, of which I paid a $700 retainer. The venue cancelled our event and refunded our $700. Meanwhile, I had the remaining outstanding bill amount sitting in my Pay Bills. I thought that voiding the bill would clear the outstanding amount in the Pay Bills section (it didn't). There's no way to undo a voided bill, so I thought I would try to "fix" this by going back to the original bill and re-enter the original amount due in an attempt to revert back to my original problem. Now I have two entries in my Pay Bills window: 1) the initial retainer payment amount for $700 and 2) a bill to the venue in the original amount due. Really unsure how to fix this.
Hello, We use the QTY column for the purpose of keeping track of weights. We sell goods with weight and also freight as a service. In the past, I was able to leave QTY as blank or as a zero when invoicing for freight. QBO now forces a "1". How can I disable QB from doing this? Note, if I place a zero it will zero out the dollar amount that we are charging the customer.
How should I categorize expenses in QuickBooks for Amazon and Uber gift cards purchased for customers who participated in my market research survey? These gift cards were given as incentives for completing the survey. Would these fall under “Marketing,” “Research Expenses,” or another category? Thank you for any guidance!

Hi, The system shows that I have partially matched the transaction. Therefore, I would like to ask how to find this partial match transaction and delete it. So that, I can remove the bank transaction. Thank you.

I accidently set up an employee for Oregon in 2022. We do not report to Oregon as we are a Washington company. I have cleared the tax due but I want to remove Oregon from my payroll setup. Is that possible? I do have an employee that is in Oregon but we do not have to withhold for them so I have exempt them so we are no longer deducting. But I would really like to get OR out of my set up. Thanks,Robert

Hi! I own a therapy center where due to the crazy high deductibles in the current healthcare industry, clients accrue rather high balances at the start of each year. Many of them need to make smaller payments over the course of the year to pay off these balances. They want to set up automatic charges to their credit cards to pay smaller amounts monthly. In QB desktop we were able to set up recurring payments that applied to the customers accounts as credits that we could go back and apply to invoices. However, in QB online the only way I can figure out to do automatic credit card changes is with recurring sales receipts. The problem with this is that then I have to go into each invoice and apply the credits from the sales receipts as discounts on the invoices. Which then shows the client and insurance companies (HSA etc) that they had a zero invoice once it's paid instead of a paid invoice. Anyone know how I can
QB begins to open, asks for my password, minimizes, and then freezes without opening. When I hover over the minimized icon, the screen pops up, but it is greyed out and will not remain when I move my cursor. Help?
My account manager indicates to me that my access to my QBonline Pro Advisor account was turned off because I do not have a subscription to QB desktop for the period beginning November 1, 2024. I understood that support would be discontinued after October 31. I also understood that the QBonline Pro Advisor account is free, but clients must pay for their subscriptions in order for this to be used to support them. Similarly, my Pro-Connect Tax was inactivated, as all had the same user name and contact information. Support at Pro-Connect and QBonline have spent some time on this, but cannot resolve it. I submitted a request for reactivation on Tuesday. I was informed that it was not escalated and still not acted on. Another request is submitted today, Thursday Oct 31, with the expectation that it will take two to three business days to resolve.

Hi, I'm interested in appearing for the 3 certification exams i.e Basic (Level 1), Advanced (Level 2) and Payroll certifications for ProAdvisor and have the following questions. I learned that QB has made updates to the exams so appreciate your responses to my question below in the same order. Thanks much in advance! 1) I heard that QBOA changed the certification exams I mentioned earlier so, did they make them tougher to pass?2) Did they update the training content for the 3 exams accordingly?3) Did they change any rules regarding how many attempts I can make before they ask me to wait 60 days to retake?4) I read on QBOA forum a few months back that many people were complaining that the training provided by QBOA is not good and the questions being asked on the exams are not within the training. Has QBOA rectified this issue with the updates they did?5) How long does it take approximately to pass the 3 exams? Please suggest a range based on doing it full-time vs part-time.6)

I would like to reconcile revenue before the end of the period. Can I change the posting date of the revenue recognition entries to post on the 25th of each month?
I do traveling sales and have a lot of mileage that I use for deductions. I have used the mobile app for years and recently noticed that it stopped tracking on October 5th, 2024. When I called, they said it was a known issue and they are working on the issue and would keep me posted. I was told to manually track my mileage until then!

Using QB Online Plus, and I have a lot of expenses marked as billable that I would like to unmark in bulk. I do not want to delete the expenses. I just want to unmark them as Billable.
