QB PRO 2009 - I know, it's outdated but it works great for us as retirees on tight budget so not upgrading... The problem is: printer not activated error code 20 and relates to pdf converter activation error, 'printer not activated error code 20'I am computer savvy - it seems to be missing some registry keys under Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_CONFIG\Software\QuickBooks PDF Converter All that is there HKEY_CURRENT_CONFIG is\software, \software\fonts\(default, not set), \LogPixels (96)\software\quickbooks pdf converter\default (not set) That QB pdf converter device was probably years ago as not needed, not would like to take advantage of feature (oh hindsight). Please suggest correct key for print/save to pdf, maybe a quick fix tool, or manual key entry, or a recommended 3rd party replacement/option. Dave
I have a customer that overpaid the invoice and wanted us to return the money back until the actual due date. I refunded the money, but we need to show the balance due on the invoice. How can we create a refund of an ACH payment that's applied to the invoice so that the balance will be due on the invoice.

Nothing more irritating then clicking something you didn't want to because you can't remove or move or hide it.It's in the way of reminders and closing and should be hidden away like the new features was. How do I move or preferably hide the Discovery Hub.
We just switched to QuickBooks Online and I noticed when doing a preview of our W-2's that the Cares Act and Paid Family Leave are not broken out separately anywhere. I checked with the QuickBooks help desk and they say it is not required to show the breakout on the W-2's at this time so they don't do it. Does anyone have a recommendation of a supplemental software that does do it, or do you just run a separate report for each employee at the end of the year to show the total of their contributions? Would like to run a report on Projects by Project Type. Would like to be able to categorize projects by Type, not just Customers. Some of our Customers have multiple Projects of different Types.

On certain tasks, the word "hidden" is written in smaller font beneath the task. This is a new issue so not sure what has happened. Curious if anyone has seen this.
Checks print with a bunch of stars in the "Pay to the order of" and into the space for the numeral.Is there a way to reduce the number of stars on the check?The problem is when someone tries a mobile upload to deposit the check into an account, the mobile app doesn't read the numeral correctly and rejects the upload.Any words of wisdom?
I have never seen this before. We add labor to our BOMs and for some reason one of my build assemblies will not let me remove pending status due to missing a quantity of labor hours. Labor is set up as Other Charge and I do these builds all the time and have never had to "receive" labor. I have eyeballed all of the other parts, and we have sufficient quantities to satisfy this build.
I have an account that has 4 open credits (due to overpayments) I went in to the "receive payments" for the account and picked their account and then I clicked on a line item of one of their charges that was greater than the credit and applied those credits via the "discounts and Credits" button. By applying the credits and putting in their payment their account should be 0.00 but it is not so i need step by step instructions on how to un-apply the credits.
My issue is for employees that work in one state but live in another state. The company/employer is located in Maryland. MD and the neighboring states (DC, PA, VA, WV) have reciprocity. That means that an employee working in MD but living in a neighboring state does not owe MD taxes. The Company may withhold taxes to the employee's state and remit the taxes to that state. QBO is scheduling withholding reports to the other states even though the company no longer has employees in one or more of those states. How do I deactivate the other states so QBO no longer schedules the filing notifications?
The bills are posted at full price before the time of payment.
I've attached every receipt to a transaction yet all of the receipts still show 'unlinked' status. Is there an issue with this function currently?
We have a user who needs to combine reports from a number of company files on a semi regular basis, and complains of the amount of time it takes to log into each company file after beginning the combination process and are looking for a way to skip the password prompt on the company files. Understanding that this potentially has serious security implications, does anyone have a way to do this? We have turned on the setting to only ask for the password for the individual company files every 90 days and have confirmed it is working for normal login, but this has no impact on the combined reports feature.

I was spot checking a project's invoice when I noticed that it was invoiced at 150%!!!When I asked the AR staff how this was possible, they said it was the only way they could get the invoice out for the correct amount.When I looked at the project's billing profile it showed a prior billed amount of $1852.50 invoiced on a total estimated amount of $1,235.00.When I looked at the project's transaction history, I only see the estimate for $1,235.00, an invoice for 50% of the estimate of $617.50, and a payment for that invoice for $617.50.Somewhere the system is counting a third invoice that is not present.When I asked the AR staff if they had created another invoice and then deleted they said that they might have done that. When an progress invoice is simply deleted instead of voided, is that what creates the prior billing tracking overstatement?I need to confirm this is what is likely causing this error. If it is I need to make sure the AR staff doesn't delete progress invoices
What would be the best way to record a cash transfer from an external account that is not tracked in Quickbooks, and is not intended to be tracked in Quickbooks? For background: we have operating accounts for a family office that are externally managed, which transfer funds to accounts we manage. What is the best method to record this inflow of cash?
